This page offers a guide on all bosses and elite enemies found in Consecrated Snowfields in Elden Ring.

All Boss and Elite Enemy Locations in the Consecrated Snowfields

Astel, Stars of Darkness

The Astel, Stars of Darkness boss can be found at Yelough Anix Tunnel, in western Mountaintops of the Giants. This fight will almost always begin with the boss firing a beam of magic directly at you, so you’ll need to be ready to dodge / roll away from this. The boss is also capable of creating a circular radius of magic damage on the ground around it, which gradually expands in range with 3 - 4 pulses. This attack is preceded by the boss hovering in the air while generating purple magic balls in its many hands, so be ready to step back as soon as this happens. There are a few grab attacks that the boss will sometimes attempt, each of which are capable of killing you in one hit. The most deadly of these sometimes occurs immediately after the boss has teleported from one part of the room to another, so you’ll need to pay attention to its movements to avoid being caught off guard. You’ll notice that most of the magical attacks used by the boss are preceded by the blue eye lighting up, which is located within the crack of the skull on its head. If you pay attention to whenever this lights up, you’ll be better prepared to respond.

Another highly damaging magical attack comes in the form of a meteor shower. This attack is often preceded by a teleport, and you’ll begin to see purple, circular shapes appear in the air above the boss, which look a bit like black holes. You should attempt to get as far away from the boss as possible once this happens to ensure that you have as much visibility of the meteor shower as possible, thereby allowing you to dodge each rock as it comes hurtling towards you. Although there are numerous rocks summoned, only a handful of them will actually have a chance of hitting you, with most flying directly into the ground around the boss, or in different corners of the room. Only focus on those rocks which are clearly heading your way. Aside from these powerful magical attacks, there are a number of swift pincer moves that you’ll need to look out for, and powerful tail swipes.

Death Rite Bird (northwest Mountaintops)

The Death Rite Bird (northwest Mountaintops) is located at the frozen pool southeast of the Apostate Derelict Site of Grace, in northwest Mountaintops of the Giants. This is essentially the same fight as the one above, with the main difference being the types of magical attacks used. This one can fire balls of magic which will hone in on your location and explode upon impact. They move fairly slowly, but this can be deceptive if you’re not careful. You should aim to dodge or roll out of the way only moments before the ball is about to hit you, and not before.

Erdtree Avatar (Mountaintops of the Giants)

The Erdtree Avatar (Mountaintops of the Giants) boss is located at the Erdtree south of the Snow Valley Ruins Overlook Site of Grace, in northeast Mountaintops of the Giants. This fight is similar to other Erdtree Avatars, and it will use most of the same attacks. The only difference here is that as you bring the boss to around half health, it will split in two and a clone of itself will enter the battle. This means that you’ll need to fight two Erdtree Avatars at once, each with the same amount of health and the same attacks. If you want to live through this fight, you’ll need to become familiar with the attack patterns of the hammer strikes. These are potentially the most deadly, since being hit by just one strike can take a big chunk of your health. There’s also the body slam attacks to look out for, during which the boss will leap in the air and land on the same spot, with a shockwave of damage emanating out. You can actually jump in the air just before the boss lands to avoid this damage, but you’ll need to time it perfectly. The easier method is to simply dodge or roll away. The boss will always glow before it executes this attack, giving you plenty of warning. The foot stomp is another attack that you’ll need to look out for, especially since you’ll have less warning when this one is about to be used. Ultimately, ranged classes will have the easiest time with these bosses, as they can be kited around fairly easily as you inflict damage from afar.

Great Wyrm Theodorix

The Great Wyrm Theodorix boss is located in the frozen river northeast of the Inner Consecrated Snowfield Site of Grace, in western Mountaintops of the Giants. This boss is capable of using lava attacks, melee strikes, tail swipes, and also a sword from its right arm. This gives the boss a lot of versatility in terms of close ranged attacks, but it can also reach you from a distance with its tail swipes and sword attacks. The lava spewed from the boss will be dropped in pools on the ground throughout the fight, so you’ll need to avoid these as you run or ride around the boss. Unlike some other large bosses such as dragons and giants, this one is actually moves fairly quickly. You can kite the boss up and down the river without worrying about it despawning too much, but even if it does despawn, you can go back to where you first encountered it and it should have the same amount of health it left you with. The boss will remain in a crawling stance for the first phase of the fight, but once you’ve brought it down to half health, it will begin standing on its hind legs. This introduces more attacks with the sword, most of which are executed extremely quickly. The sword attacks inflict massive damage, so it’s a good idea to stay behind the boss wherever possible.

Misbegotten Crusader

The Misbegotten Crusader can be found at the Cave of the Forlorn, northeast of the Inner Consecrated Snowfield Site of Grace, in western Mountaintops of the Giants. This is a similar boss to the one you encounter in Caelid, with the main difference being the type of weapon used. The Golden Order Greatsword allows the boss to use a Golden Order Blessing, which generates a swift shockwave attack around him and ends with the boss casting a rune arc in a wide radius in front of him. You’ll need to dodge or roll away from the initial shockwave, then be ready to roll through the rune arc to avoid its damage. This is easier said than done, so it may take a few attempts to get the timing right. Aside from this special attack, the boss doesn’t have much else up its sleeve. However, it will be relentless with sword and claw attacks, each of which can inflict massive amounts of damage. The boss can also roar which will inflict moderate damage and deplete your stamina significantly, so it’s best to evade this with a dodge or roll rather than a block.

Night’s Cavalry Duo (Mountaintops of the Giants)

The Night’s Cavalry Duo (Mountaintops of the Giants) can be found escorting a carriage southwest of the Inner Consecrated Snowfield Site of Grace, in western Mountaintops of the Giants. This is another one where the cavalry bosses share the same attacks as others, but this time you’ll be fighting two of them if you’re unlucky, one wielding a flail and the other a glaive. If you’re careful as you approach the carriage, however, you’ll be able to pick off just one of the bosses and fight them alone in the snowfields. You’ll need to be careful to avoid the attention of the other boss and the nearby adds, but even if you bring a few into the fight you shouldn’t have much trouble here.

Night’s Cavalry (Forbidden Lands)

The Night’s Cavalry (Forbidden Lands) boss can be found roaming the path to the Grand Lift of Rold Site of Grace, in southeast Mountaintops of the Giants. This is a standard Night’s Cavalry boss fight with most of the same attacks that the others have. You can only find it roaming at night, and you’ll generally find the fight easier on your Torrent mount. However, the numerous trees in the area can make it more difficult to properly joust with the boss, so fighting on foot is also a viable option here. This will sometimes force the boss to charge into a tree, which will stop it in its tracks and allow you to attack before it sets off again. One of the easiest fights in the Mountaintops of the Giants area.

Putrid Grave Warden Duelist

The Putrid Grave Warden Duelist is located southeast of the Inner Consecrated Snowfield Site of Grace, at the Consecrated Snowfield Catacombs in western Mountaintops of the Giants. This boss will build the Scarlet Rot debuff with each attack, and it’s also capable of spewing Scarlet Rot from its mouth, directed in a cone shape in front of it. The most deadly attack from this boss occurs if it manages to grab you. A snake will then emerge from the boss and bite your head, instantly inflicting Scarlet Rot and a massive amount of damage. The damage from the attack alone will likely be enough to kill you in one hit if you don’t have much health, but if you do manage to survive the hit you’ll want a Preserving Boluses at the ready to cure the Scarlet Rot. You can parry most of the attacks from the boss, but they will often form part of lengthy combos which can easily eat away at your stamina. A ranged class will find this one easy to kite, but a melee class will need to pay more attention to openings for attack after attack combos.

Putrid Avatar (Mountaintops of the Giants)

The Putrid Avatar (Mountaintops of the Giants) can be found at the Minor Erdtree southeast of Ordina, Liturgical Town, in northwest Mountaintops of the Giants. This fight is the same as other avatar fights, and it comes with most of the same moves including the body slam, magical projectiles, and devastating hammer strikes. As with other Putrid Avatars, the body slam will send out a wave of Scarlet Rot, so you’ll want to avoid this at all costs by either jumping over the shockwave, or dodging / rolling far enough away.

Stray Mimic Tear

The Stray Mimic Tear can be found along the Hidden Path to the Haligtree. This is a unique fight which will be different for each individual, since the boss mimics the build that you currently use as you enter the room. However, there is a way to make this fight much easier if you’re struggling by entering the room without any weapons equipped. The boss will then spawn unarmed, but you can equip a weapon after the fight starts. To access the boss in the Hidden Path to the Haligtree, you’ll first need to find the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Left) and the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Right).
