To the Verinas Outpost

When you’re ready to get questing, get in the Regalia and set your destination for Verinas Mart - Ravatogh, which is down the road west of the Rachsia Bridge Fishing Spot. Along the way you’ll pass The Maidenwater Parking Spot and the Lambath Haven Campground, which is north of the road.

If you stop and rest at the latter you’ll be pestered in the morning by Gladio, who wants you to help him gather flowers for Iris. D’aww… how can you turn that down? You need merely venture into the rocky hills to the north-west to secure the flowers Gladiolus wants for an easy 20 AP.

After the Lambath Haven Campground you’ll pass by the Ravatoghan Trail Parking Spot, but all in all, the trip to the Verinas Mart - Ravatogh should be pretty uneventful.

Objective Reward
For indulging Prompto EXP 300

Verinas Outpost - Ravatogh

When you reach the Verinas Outpost - Ravatogh you’ll find that it’s a fairly ordinary outpost, complete with the obligatory Rent-a-Chocobo station, a Caravan for your sleeping needs and a few shops. The Culless Munition - Ravatogh branch doesn’t sell much more than Aranea’s imperials in Vesperpool:

But it’s worth stopping by the Erupto Eats Restaurant for intel, including the location of The Rock of Ravatogh dungeon and the Owlyss Haven Campground within. You can also buy the Smoked Dualhorn Shank meal (4,800 Gil) for some handy buffs and some inspiration for the “Smoked Behemoth” recipe. Shame that Ignis has to use Behemoth Tenderloin to get the same effect… Finally, of course, check out the local hunts, which may be worth doing, since they’re all in the Ravatogh area.

Finally, there’s the Verinas Mart, which gives this outpost its name. If you want to keep the Regalia spick and span and have way more Gil than sense you can buy the Reinforced Fiberglass Coating for a hefty 8,000 Gil. For a much more modest you can add the Final Fantasy XII OST by buying Memories of FFXII . You also shouldn’t neglect to pick up the Key Item Iron Shelf Recipes, Vol. 6 , which teaches Ignis the “Sweet Saltwater Crustacean Curry” recipe.

The Professors Protégé - Wyvern

Once you’re done shopping head north-west past a watch tower and adjacent water tower to find Sania, who naturally wants you to pester some indigenous creatures… for science! This time she’s got her eyes set on some Wyvern Wings, which are commonly dropped by Wyverns. These flying pests infest the Rock of Ravatogh dungeon, and it’s improbable that you won’t obtain one at some point when you explore the volcano… or beforehand, if you complete the “Verinas Mart Under Threat” hunt. You’ll be reminded when you explore the Rock of Ravatogh, but the quest reward is listed below, for when you get around to bringing your grisly trophy back to Sania.

Objective Reward
For giving Sania a Wyvern Wing EXP 8,000 / Earth Pendant

Now, for a bit of loot. There’s a variety of loot spots around, but most of them contain trivial treasure, so let’s focus on somewhat more noteworthy items. From Sania head east and search near a large lightpost to find a loot spot (Warm Uppers). Return to Sania and continue north-west to find two hot springs. Along the western shore of the further (north-western) pool you’ll find a second loot spot (Ruby Bracelet). On the eastern coast of the south-eastern pool you can find a third loot spot (Fire Crest).

Sania will be waiting at the Verinas Station - Ravatogh, eager to impose another quest on you (left). Seek out Saphyrtails to appease the Culless Munitions vendor in Lestallum (right).

Sting Your Praises

One last bit of business is left before you head into the Rock of Ravatogh, a long overdue quest from the Culless Munitions - Lestallum vendor. From the Verinas Outpost head north-east to find a group of Saphyrtails, which are higher-level versions of Reapertails. Exterminate them, gather their Scorpion Stingers, then return to the weapons merchant at your leisure to finish this quest and earn another discount at this store… which is of rather dubious benefit by now.

Objective Reward
For harvesting a Scorpion Stinger EXP 4,000

After a years-long cold war between the Kingdom of Lucis and the empire of Niflheim over the world’s last crystal, an armistice is finally agreed upon. As part of the peace treaty, the heir to the Lucian throne Noctis Lucis Caelum is to marry Lady Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, an oracle from the imperial province of Tenebrae. After Noctis sets out to meet his betrothed, the treaty collapses. Merely a ruse to bring down the magical barrier protecting Lucis, Niflheim invades and takes the kingdom and the crystal for itself. With the treaty in tatters and his father and betrothed believed dead, Noctis must rely on his own tenacity and the support of his band of loyal followers to get him through what is to come.
