All Main Quests

By
Matt Chard

There are 16 main quests in "Dragon" iconDragon’s Dogma 2 with a further four quests in the post-game, making it a total of 20. These quests are split up into regions, where you’ll have 10 to complete in Vermund with another six spread across both Battahl and the Volcanic Island. Note that the post-game main quest "Halls of the First Dawn" iconHalls of the First Dawn is split into five separate quests, which would take the total up to 25. Read on to find out every main quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2 in chronological order.

Are there really two Arisen’s active at the same time or is something else going on?

Vermund Main Quests

These quests will technically start on the Volcanic Island as you have to do a couple of tutorial quests at the beginning of the game which takes place at the "Excavation Site" iconExcavation Site, this is situated on the Volcanic Island. The first quest you’ll get in Vermund is “Tale’s Beginning“ where you’ll need to accompany Justinn to the "Borderwatch Outpost" iconBorderwatch Outpost. From there, you’ll do the "In Dragon's Wake" iconIn Dragon’s Wake quest, which will eventually lead you to the main city, "Vernworth" iconVernworth. The rest of Vernworth’s quests will then be accepted by Captain Brant, who you’ll find in "The Stardrop Inn" iconThe Stardrop Inn at night after your initial introduction. Here are Vermund’s main quests in chronological order:

Captain Brant will be your main contact for main quests in Vermund.

Battahl and Volcanic Island Main Quests

The first quest of Battahl is called "Nation of the Lambent Flame" iconNation of the Lambent Flame, which will be given to you automatically after finishing Feast of Deception. This quest will task you to make your way to Battahl for more information regarding the Godsway. Here are the main quests for Battahl and the Volcanic Island:

You’ll get the first main quest in Battahl as you reach the gates to the city gates in Bakbattahl.

The Unmoored World (Post-Game) Main Quests

After you complete the main quest Legacy, you can access The Unmoored World provided you impale yourself with the godsway while atop of the dragon. This will take you toward the true ending of the game. This will open up a further four quests, nine if you consider that Halls of the First Dawn is split into five quests. Here are The Unmoored main quests in chronological order:

Head over to the Seafloor Shrine and speak to Rothais to start the main quest, Halls of the First Dawn.

That’s it for the main quests of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Note that The Unmoored World has a time limit, and if you fail to complete the quests within the limit, you’ll have to start again akin to a Rogue-Lite. Even though you have a time limit, it’s very generous and you probably won’t reach it. If you want to read more about the post-game in Dragon’s Dogma 2, read our The Unmoored World Guide.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the long-awaited sequel to a predecessor that gained a cult following for its quirky pawns and charming jank, not to mention the diverse combat options that came with access to several unique vocations. All of that and more is expanded upon with DD2, while some of the mechanics have been simplified to make them more accessible, but still retaining that unapologetic focus on rewarding exploration at the heart of its gameplay. You are the Arisen, fated to confront the Dragon’s Dogma, and the initial path you take is a familiar one to those who played the original, but you’ll soon find that there’s more to this story than meets the eye. In this guide, we cover the following:
