Dragon's Dogma 2

How to romance Wilhelmina

By
Echo Apsey

Believe it or not, you can actually romance some companions in Dragon’s Dogma 2. However, the way to do so is pretty buried, and you are unlikely to realize you can romance some NPCs, including Wilhelmina at the Rose Chateau.

To ensure you raise your affinity with Wilhelmina while you can, we have put together this guide on how to romance Wilhelmina in "Dragon" iconDragon’s Dogma 2.

How to romance Wilhelmina in Dragon’s Dogma 2

To romance Wilhelmina in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you need to:

To begin with, you will need to complete the quest An Unsettling Encounter, which is one of the first ones given to you by Brant, early on, as you seek to find out more about Disa’s schemes and the false Sovran. During the quest, be sure to exit the room you are investigating via the open window in order to meet Wilhelmina and trigger a cutscene. You can read our full guide to the An Unsettling Encounter quest here.

You can alternatively meet Wilhelmina during The Stolen Throne quest which requires you to attend the masquerade. This quest is a little harder to meet the requirements for as you will need an "Eventide Mask" iconEventide Mask, Courtly gear, and to sneak your way into the masquerade. However, successfully doing so will allow you to meet Wilhelmina. Our guide on The Stolen Throne quest can be seen here.

After talking to her, you will gain access to the Rose Chateau and be able to visit whenever you like and access her bedroom on the top floor. The next time you return in the day, you will notice that she isn’t in her room and be told the same by someone outside of it.

Inside, you can find Allard talking to Wilhelmina. However, before long she will shoo him away and talk to you instead - telling you of her distaste for Allard and the fact she wants to kill him.

Wilhelmina isn’t as happy with her situation as you might think.

Here you have the option to help kill him or dissuade her. However, in order to romance her, you will need to help her, obtaining the quest Every Rose Has Its Thornes in the process.

From there, you are told to find evidence on Allard. While you aren’t given any pointers as to how to complete this, simply visit Sven in his chambers in the palace and he will point you towards Patrick who will be able to help you out.

Sven is the man to talk to, in order to dig up dirt on Allard.

So, from there, you want to head to Patrick’s manor, talk to him and he will help you out by summoning Allard for a brief period of time, allowing you to check out paintings in his manor, which he says are suspicious.

As soon as you finish talking to Patrick, you want to head to the quest marker as Allard will instantly start walking towards Patrick’s place. Don’t let him see you though, so hide behind the stairs or a nearby wall.

Inside the manor, touch the painting above the nightstand to obtain the "Murder Report" iconMurder Report which you can then take back to Wilhelmina. Upon giving it to her, you will be able to kill Allard by following the steps of the quest, which you can read about in our Every Rose Has Its Thornes quest guide. But, at the same time, you will have fully romanced Wilhelmina.

That covers how to romance Wilhelmina in Dragon’s Dogma 2. For even more guides on how to find NPCs scattered throughout the world or grow stronger with them, check out our full interactive world map and how to read Elvish in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the long-awaited sequel to a predecessor that gained a cult following for its quirky pawns and charming jank, not to mention the diverse combat options that came with access to several unique vocations. All of that and more is expanded upon with DD2, while some of the mechanics have been simplified to make them more accessible, but still retaining that unapologetic focus on rewarding exploration at the heart of its gameplay. You are the Arisen, fated to confront the Dragon’s Dogma, and the initial path you take is a familiar one to those who played the original, but you’ll soon find that there’s more to this story than meets the eye. In this guide, we cover the following:
