A Veil of Gossamer Clouds Walkthrough

By
Craig Robinson

If you’ve been helping good ol’ Sven out, you will randomly get a quest from Sven’s assistant when you next return to "Vernworth" iconVernworth once you unlock Battahl in the main storyline. One of his aides will find you in the city and tell you to visit him in his chambers. The Prince Reagent will then ask you to go and check for more information on the letter you discovered during the Stolen Throne quest and after completing the Masked Correspondence questline. When you get it, you must work out some information on the letter in question, which will take you through Battahl and Vernworth. Here’s everything you need to know about the "A Veil of Gossamer Clouds" iconA Veil of Gossamer Clouds quest in "Dragon" iconDragon’s Dogma 2.

Here’s everything you need to know to complete the Veil of Gossamer Quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

How to Complete A Veil of Gossamer Clouds in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Once you have the errand to visit Sven, get your Marcher’s Helmet, Chest, and Leggings on and sneak into the castle. From there, enter the second floor and head to Sven’s bedroom. Now speak to Sven and then go and check out the letter and what you can figure out from it.

Visit Waldhar in the library underneath the Slums to learn of the nature of the half-written letter.

The first port of call should be to visit Waldhar, who now resides in the library under the Gracious Hand. If you have not already done so, you’ll need to complete the Caged Magistrate and the Heel of History quests.

To find him, go to the Slums and towards the ruined tower next to the Chapel, and then enter the library where Waldhar should be. Go to Waldhar and hand over the note to him. He will discern what type of language it is and infer what is being said about the letter and the Godsway, which you encountered during the main storyline.

All you know is that the answer now resides in Battahl due to Phaesus’ Battahl connections and the influence the Godsway object has on Battahl.

Battahl - A Veil of Gossamer Clouds

From here, you now need to make your way to Battahl. You should have been given Captain Brant’s pass to enter at this stage of the game. Make your way southwest on the world map, and you should arrive at Battahl. Once in the main city, look for a building called the Secret Laboratory, located near the "Flamebearer Palace" iconFlamebearer Palace. Be aware that the Secret Laboratory is considered a trespassing zone, but if you go through some of the passageways on the north side, you can enter at the very top of the Secret Laboratory and be fine. The entrance around here is along the cliffside pathway.

It seems like it’s genuinely fine for you to be there as long as you don’t harass anyone or pull a weapon out. Do those things and it gets pretty awkward.

Enter the main city in Battahl and look for the white doors near the Flamebearer Palace to enter the Secret Laboratory where you’ll find the next part of the Letter.

Continue to walk toward the Equipment Storage on the southern tip of the Lab and you’ll find a statue of a dead dragon. Enter the room on the south side, and you should find the letter on a table. Note that you can find guards inside the room, so be careful not to walk in immediately until it’s safe to enter. Acquire the note, and then return back to Vernworth Palace and visit Sven. Feel free to Ferrystone yourself over to Vernworth, as it is a very long walk and many Oxcart journeys away now.

Hand Sven the letter and you will complete the quest. You’ll get around 4000 XP, along with 20000 G and a "Ferrystone" iconFerrystone. This concludes everything you need to know about the A Veil of Gossamer Clouds in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Good luck with your pilgrimage to Battahl and the completion of this side mission.
