At first, they only offer 0.15kg, but, after collecting many, you’ll soon start wracking up that bonus encumbrance, which will go further and further as time builds on. Here’s everything you need to know about the Golden Trove Beetles in Dragon’s Dogma 2, featuring locations, tips on finding them, and more.

Here’s everything you need to know about Golden Trove Beetles in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

What Are Golden Trove Beetles in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Golden Trove Beetles are collectibles that players often find around the overworld’s woodlands, ruins, and other locations. They are typically hidden in trees, piles of rubble, or other such clutter. Plenty of them are scattered around the world, so you are bound to run into them on your travels.

You can often identify them via their scarab/beetle aesthetic with an orange-brown color scheme. When you approach one, pick it up, check your inventory for it, and then use it. You and your pawn will gain around 0.15KG in encumbrance bonus.

While at first, this is a very negligible number, it often means that for every two you pick up, you can carry three really small items, such as the 0.10 weight "Greenwarish" iconGreenwarish and other items of that nature. When you get more and more, this will eventually lead to an extra KG of weight plus, add in the fact it copies to your main pawn. It really does help carry the nitty and gritty parts of inventory management.

Note that when your encumbrance increases, it will change the ratios of where very light, light, average, heavy, and very heavy weight numbers begin and end. So, the extra carrying capacity is massively beneficial for those. Note that changing into a different encumbrance classification affects climbing speed, stamina regeneration, movement speed, and other important factors. So, once again, it is incredibly useful to collect Golden Trove Beetles in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Golden Trove Beetle Locations in Dragon’s Dogma 2

As mentioned, Golden Trove Beetles are a collectible scattered around the world, and often lurk near trees and are very easy to miss. To make tracking these easier, we highly recommend you stay with pawns who are familiar with the area you are in. These pawns will often learn of the area by camping in the region. When they do spot something of interest, they’ll alert you through speech, and place an ‘!’ on the minimap of a POI for you to investigate. Sometimes, these will be ladders, chests, Seeker Coins, and then other times, resources and Golden Trove Beetles.

If there’s any tip to take from this, it is that it is easier to find Golden Trove Beetles at night.

When you recruit support pawns some come with knowledge of things they found in other game worlds. If a pawn knows where a Golden Trove Beetle is already, they’ll mention it when they speak. Make sure to press Go, and they will, more often than not, start taking you to the location to go and find it.

The other recommended tip for finding the Golden Trove Beetles is by venturing out at night. Golden Trove Beetles tend to glow in the dark and illuminate themselves with a golden torch-light aesthetic around them. It makes it incredibly easy to see Golden Troves that are easily missable by weird angles on trees, hidden in long bushes, and other shenanigans that come with finding them.

Here’s an example of what you can expect from using our Interactive Map to find Golden Trove Beetles in Dragon’s Dogma 2, among other items, collectibles, and more.

And there you have it, this concludes everything you need to know about Golden Trove Beetles in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Good luck finding these, using them, and becoming a giga-chad of the bag space.
