After arriving in Vernworth in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you will meet Captain Brant and he will explain the current political climate the city and continent of Vermund face. Simply put, you can’t just show up and say you are the Arisen. So, you will have to work with Brant to gain favor with the citizens and ensure they see you as the true Arisen and not a phony. This all begins with the quest: Seat of the Sovran.
Speak With Captain Brant In The Tavern At Night¶
After you have your initial conversation with Brant, make your way to the tavern in Vernworth to speak to him again. However, first you will exit the room you talked with Brant in and see a man run by you. A guard will shortly follow and ask if you have seen him. You can either lie or tell him where the man went. This has an effect on the quest and overall, your reputation. But, it doesn’t lock you out of completing the quest or doing anything. So, pick the option you prefer!
After that, head to the tavern at night and Brant will tell you that Disa, the queen regent, has surrounded herself with sycophants who simply wouldn’t believe you are the Arisen. So he suggests holding off until the coronation of the Sovran. In that time you will need to boost your reputation and nobility to get an invite to the coronation.
This comes in the form of several tasks and sub-quests: Monster Culling, Disa’s Plot, The Stolen Throne, and The Caged Magistrate.
Completing all four of these quests will subsequently complete the Seat of the Sovran quest once you have learned more about the Sovran and boosted your reputation. You can find a full guide to these quests including The Stolen Throne, Disa’s Plot, The Stolen Throne, and The Caged Magistrate quests in our guide and their locations on the interactive world map we have.
