Berries have been around since the third generation of Pokemon games, where players could find them growing on berry trees. Since then, the list of berries has grown, and they have become an effective part of Pokemon battle strategies. Finding berries is a bit different in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, as there are no longer berry trees growing across the land. In this guide, we go over where to find berries, what they do, and list every single type of berry that you can find in the game.
What do Berries Do?¶
There are two main types of berries in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. The first type, Pokemon hold, and when they are needed, the Pokemon will use them to help out in battle. The second type is called EV berries. These berries are used to reduce an EV stat by 10 points, which allows you to retrain Pokemon the way you like.
