How do trainers go about capturing Okidogi and The Loyal Three in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The "Teal Mask" iconTeal Mask DLC? Finding these imposter legendaries might seem elusive, especially since they vanish after their Titanic battles. However, there’s always more to the story.

Preparing for Okidogi and The Loyal Three

In contrast to some Pokémon that willingly enter Pokéballs, Okidogi and The Loyal Three pose a significant challenge for trainers. But fret not; we’ve devised a solid strategy to help you make them your partner Pokémon in no time. Here’s what you need and why:

Item Why It’s Needed
"Dusk Ball" iconDusk Balls Higher catch rates for night time encounters.
"Quick Ball" iconQuick Balls It’s always worth throwing one at the start of every encounter on the off-chance it captures a Pokémon successfully.
"Timer Ball" iconTimer Balls Had the battle been going on for far too long? "Timer Ball" iconTimer Balls work better the longer an encounter lasts.
"Ultra Ball" iconUltra Balls A solid last resort when trainers have run out of "Dusk Ball" iconDusk Balls and "Timer Ball" iconTimer Balls.
"Max Revive" iconMax Revives Always handy for those powerful critical hits.

Locating Okidogi

The Loyal Three can be found in the same locations where you battled their Titanic forms. In the case of Okidogi, you’ll spot it near the water’s edge at Paradise Barrens. Refer to the screenshots below for a clearer idea of its whereabouts:

Choosing Your Pokémon Team

Once you’ve collected these items (it’s advisable to have 30 to 50 of each to be safe), it’s time to assemble a formidable team. The Loyal Three are all approximately level 70, so having a level 100 team is wise. At the time of The Teal Mask DLC release, trainers can conveniently obtain "Mew" IconMew and "Mewtwo" IconMewtwo, thanks to the former’s Mystery Gift Code and the latter’s unique Mew team strategy.

This provides a straightforward and effective approach to acquire a pair of powerful Pokémon with versatile move sets for capturing The Loyal Three without much hassle. Here are a couple of screenshots detailing recommended move sets. Mewtwo’s moveset is obtained directly from the event, while Mew should have "False Swipe" iconFalse Swipe and "Thunder Wave" iconThunder Wave:

(1 of 2) This is the same Mew used for the Mewtwo Tera Raid Strategy. Any level 100 Mew will do, providing it has False Swipe and Thunder Wave

This is the same Mew used for the Mewtwo Tera Raid Strategy. Any level 100 Mew will do, providing it has False Swipe and Thunder Wave (left), Mewtwo the Unrivaled is a powerhouse and a good backup to wipe a lot of HP before switching in with Mews False Swipe. (right)

Include Mewtwo in your party, disable auto-saving, and save the game. This allows for a soft reset if things don’t go as planned. Okidogi inflicts severe poisoning when a physical move connects, so it’s advisable to have Mewtwo deal significant damage, then switch to Mew, using False Swipe to reduce the HP to 1 and following up with Thunder Wave to enhance capture chances.

From this point onward, your task is to keep your entire team from fainting while using "Dusk Ball" iconDusk Balls, "Timer Ball" iconTimer Balls, and "Ultra Ball" iconUltra Balls to capture Okidogi. If the encounter takes too long, simply perform a soft reset and try again; savor the excitement.

And there you have it—an adventurous partner in Okidogi. Why not discover how to capture Munkidori and Fezandipiti next?
