Let’s get into the Gyarados Tera Raid movesets, stats and drops.

Gyarados Tera Raid Event

Gyarados is a popular Water Water and Flying Flying type that’s been around since the original generation of Pokémon games. Evolving from a "Magikarp" IconMagikarp at level 20, it’s only major weaknesses are Rock Rock and Electric Electric types.

When using its standard typing, Gyarados is strong against the following types:

Type - -
BugBug FightingFighting FireFire
GroundGround SteelSteel WaterWater

Like the Gyarados Tera Raid event, the Gyarados Tera Raids Tera-Typing is random, so Gyarados gets to keep it’s type-advantages whilst hiding behind a new Tera-Type. Unless it’s Water Water or Flying Flying that is, in that case the above applies. The best strategy here is having a good spread of Pokémon prepared to deal with all Tera Typings, which sounds ridiculous, but it’s just the standard Pokémon team strategy.

The Gyarados Tera Raid event will be throwing Dragon Dragon, Dark Dark, Flying Flying and Water Water attacks at trainers, which means picking a Pokémon with a good resistance against all of the aforementioned is a good start.

The Azumaril Tera Raid Build knocking around right now is brilliant and should take all of these types with a pinch of salt, given its only weak against Electric Electric, Grass Grass and Poison Poison types.

It uses Belly Drum to max out its Attack stat then drive damage home with "Play Rough" iconPlay Rough, Superpower or any physical attack its trainer chooses. It’s also going to be super effective against "Cinderace" IconCinderace too, although it will be spamming the move "Bulk Up" iconBulk Up that raises its Attack Stat, so hitting hard and fast is the way forward.
