Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

How to Change Outfits in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

By
Ben Chard

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is the latest entry in the Pokémon franchise and being able to customize your character has been a big feature in both Sword and Shield along with "Arceus" IconArceus. This page will show you how to change your outfits in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

You can change your outfits to other seasonal uniforms.

If you’ve been playing Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Sword and Shield, you may have noticed that for the most part, you have full control over how your character looks. This feature returns in Scarlet and Violet, but with some major changes that may disappoint fans of the system in the previous games.

Can you change your uniform in Scarlet and Violet?

Unfortunately, at the time of writing, the answer to that question is no. You will always have to wear a variation of the Naranja/Uva Academy uniform to fit the theme of the game. You can alter them a little, by choosing one of the four seasonal variations of the uniform.

To do this, press Joy-Con-DPad-Left and you’ll be able to swtich to one of the four seasonal variants of the Academy uniform. This is a little disappointing, as the previous two games let you alter your main uniform too and we hold out hope that this is something that may be addressed later via a patch or DLC.

This menu is also where you can change the other parts of your outfit that’s not restricted to the uniform itself. You can change things such as hats, socks, shoes, gloves, and bags which still adds a bit of variation to your outfit.

Where to buy clothes in Scarlet and Violet?

So now that you know what you can and cannot change, you may be wondering where and how you can pick up some of these other clothing items. Thankfully, it’s a simple process that only requires Pokédollars to purchase them with.

You can visit stores like Capbourg to purchase more clothing items.

In every major town, you’ll find clothes shops with Mesagoza offering the largest variety of stores in its main square. Below, you’ll find a list of all the stores where you can purchase clothes:
