This page offers all the information you need to know about the upcoming Tera Raid event featuring Tyranitar and Salamence in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

Tera Raid: Tyranitar and Salamence¶

The third tera event will begin from midnight UTC on December 9th through to 23:59 UTC on December 11th 2022. During this event, Tyranitar will appear in Scarlet games whilst Salamence will appear in Violet. You will encounter these Pokémon during 4 and 5 star tera raids. If you’d like to battle Salamence or Tyranitar but you don’t have the right version, you can go online and battle with other people who do have the right game version!

The next limited time tera raid event is versus Salamence and Tyranitar!

Tyranitar: Scarlet Tera Raid¶

Tyranitar is a Rock and Dark type Pokémon. If you take on Tyranitar during a 4-star raid, its tera type will be random. If you battle Tyranitar during a 5-star raid, it’ll have a 50% chance of either being a Ghost type or a random tera type.

If it does take on the Ghost tera type, then a strong Dark or Ghost type Pokémon will do x2 damage. For example our Gholdengo tera raid build would work well here!

Salamence: Violet Tera Raid¶

Salamence is a Dragon and Flying type Pokémon. If you take on Salamence during a 4-star raid, its tera type will be random. If you battle Salamence during a 5-star raid, it’ll have a 50% chance of either being a Steel type or a random tera type.

If it does take on the Steel tera type, a strong Ground or Fighting type will do x2 damage. Iron Hands is a strong fighting-type Pokémon and it learns some powerful moves!
