Snowpoint City is a city in northern Sinnoh that holds your penultimate badge in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. Here’s everything you need to do there.
Main Story¶
The only real thing you need to do, involving the main story, is to beat Candice in Snowpoint City Gym.
For the most point, Candice will use Ice-type Pokémon, so ready up your Fire-types. There is, however, a surprise Medicham in there (perhaps because it’s found near Snowpoint City?) so look out for that.
After defeating Candice, you’ll receive TM72 Avalanche and have the ability to use Rock Climb out of battle. This will open up a lot of new locations, so look out for those rocky walls you can scale to reach new heights.
Items¶
There are a few items to be found in Snowpoint City.
Poké Mart¶
Most of these items can be found inside the Poké Mart. As with the Poké Mart in every city, more items open up the more badges you get, but this is the selection you’ll find on your first trip to Snowpoint.
Please note, this is after defeating the gym and having seven badges.

Other Locations¶
There are a few other locations worth visiting.
As you may have noticed above, you can trade your Medicham for a Haunter. As Medicham is pretty easy to catch around Snowpoint City, this is a good trade - however, players will be disappointed to learn that your Haunter will not evolve to Gengar, as it usually does during a trade. This is due to its Everstone. Bad luck.
At the top of the city, you’ll also find Snowpoint Temple, but you’ll be told you can’t go there yet by the NPC at the front. This is because it’s only accessible in the post-game, so save it for later.
You can also sail to the Battle Zone from Snowpoint City.
On the right, a man in a house will give you a fun, trendy saying every day. This is a gimmick that doesn’t do much for the actual gameplay.
If you’ve collected all of the items you need, defeated Candice, and considered that trade for a Haunter, head on out of Snowpoint City to get your last badge.
