Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Route 225 (Encounters & Items)

By
Vincent Lau

This is a walkthrough for Route 225, including what Pokémon you can encounter and items you can find.

(1 of 2) Route 225.

Route 225. (left), Head north from the Fight Area to get here. (right)

Route 225 is a postgame route accessible by passing through the west gatehouse in the Fight Area. You must have the National Pokédex before you can go here.

The route itself has a bunch of overhead bridges criss-crossing near the start. Towards the center, there’s a big hill with a pond at the top. Beyond that is a small section of fields and trees.

How to Navigate Route 225

From the entrance, head west and Rock Climb to grab a HP Up. Next, go north from the entrance, to reach a crossroad with a trio of trainers. Cut down the trees to the east for a Rare Candy. Then travel west and up the stairs past the bridge. Go up and around towards the stairs leading back to lower ground.

(1 of 2) Hidden Ultra Ball.

Hidden Ultra Ball. (left), Hidden Hyper Potion. (right)

Head all the way south and scoop up the Ultra Ball at the end. Return to lower ground and, this time, go east underneath the bridge. Run up the stairs nearby, then cross the first bridge towards the north. Search next to the north wall between the two bridges for a hidden Ultra Ball.

Go south along the second bridge, then east across the third one. Search the gap in the tall grass here for a hidden Hyper Potion. Now continue south across the fourth bridge, then west across the fifth and final bridge. Walk down the stairs, then follow the path west and north. Grab the Revive in the middle of the road.

(1 of 2) Fresh Water.

Fresh Water. (left), Lax Incense. (right)

Further north, there’s a rest house of sorts. Go inside to be rewarded with some Fresh Water. Back outside, search above the nearby patch of tall grass for a Rare Candy. Next, use Cut to slice the nearby skinny trees to find a slightly obscured Lax Icense. Moving on, go up the stairs towards the north.

At the top of the hill, head east, then Surf along the pond near the center. On the other side, descend the stairs to be greeted with a Dubious Disc. Return to the other side of the pond and continue east. Towards the east side, you can return to lower ground and use Cut to bypass a small strip of tall grass.

(1 of 2) Hidden Max Repel.

Hidden Max Repel. (left), Dawn Stone. (right)

Further north, you’ll reach a field of tall grass. Make your way west. At the first corner, use Cut to reach an enclosed space with four berry plants. Zig-zag through the tall grass to reach a wider space. Search the left side of this final field for a hidden Max Repel. Next, Rock Climb north to confront a Dragon Tamer and retrieve the Dawn Stone behind him.

After climbing back down, the exit is nearby to the east.
