Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Best Fishing Spots in BDSP

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on the best fishing spots in Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (BDSP).

Before you can start fishing at all the best spots, you’ll need a fishing rod. Head over to our guide on how to get each rod, including how to get the Super Rod!

How to Fish

To fish, you’ll need to first find a body of water and then face it. Then, select a Rod from your Key Items inventory and choose to use it. This will throw out your fishing line into the water. If there’s pokémon around, you may have one bite the line. When they bite the bait, which is indicated by an exclamation point above your character’s head, press A to battle them. If you don’t press A quick enough they’ll swim away!

When you’re in battle, you’ll have a chance to catch them if you want.

Mount Coronet (Via Route 211)

You want to head over to the Underground Lake in Mt. Coronet that can be reached by taking Route 211 into the Mountain. You’ll probably want to grab HM Defog before venturing in here, as it’s quite hard to see! Then, to get to the Underground Lake in Mt. Coronet, you’ll need to use HM Strength to move the grey boulders.

In these waters, you’ll have the chance to catch the super elusive "Feebas" IconFeebas, but this is no easy task, as it’s only found in four tiles in the lake - and these four tiles are entirely random and different for each player. Head over to our indepth guide on how to search for and catch a Feebas!

Feebas is a tough fish to find!

In addition to a Feebas, you could also catch one of the following in this lake.

Route 218

The waters found in Route 218 have a whole host of decent fish Pokémon! Make sure to bring along at least a Good Rod, because you could catch yourself a "Finneon" IconFinneon, "Lumineon" IconLumineon and/or a "Gyarados" IconGyarados in these waters.

Mount Coronet (Peak Interior)

On the 1F of the Peak Interior, you’ll find a lake that has the potential to spawn in a "Dratini" IconDratini and a "Dragonair" IconDragonair. Unfortunately, you will need to ensure you have a Super Rod before you can attempt to find these. Below, you’ll find all the different types of fish and their spawn rates in this particular body of water.
