This page explains how to find Cut (TM93) - a Normal-type HM Move (Hidden Move) that allows you to chop down small trees in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (BDSP).
To unlock HM Cut, you’ll first need to defeat Gardenia and earned the Forest Badge.

Cut HM Location¶
HM Cut allows you to cut down small trees that would otherwise block your path. The trees are small and have two bushes sprouting from its trunk (see below).
You will receive HM Cut from Cynthia in Eterna City, the first time you walk near the Eterna City Galactic Building.

How to Use Cut¶
Easy Method¶
Use A to cut small trees blocking your path.
Simply press the A Button towards the small tree and you’ll be prompted to use Cut.
Longer Method¶
Alternatively, while facing a small tree, open up and zoom into your Pokétch by using the R button.
While zoomed in, move the cursor with the Left Stick and press the A button while on top of the big red button on the right side to cycle to the Hidden Moves app. (You can also cycle by clicking the Right Stick inwards.)
When you’re on the Hidden Moves app (while zoomed in), hover over Cut with the cursor and then press the A button.
Notable Locations Where You Can Use Cut¶
- To reach the Eterna City Galactic Building.
- To reach the Old Chateau in Eterna Forest.
- To access the south-east part of Eterna Forest (the outside, accessibla via both halves of Route 205).
