To mix things up, some Pokémon have exclusive Gigantamax Forms. When one of these Pokémon Dynamaxes, their appearance will change and one of their Max Moves will be replaced with a unique G-Max Move. Otherwise, they function the same as Dynamaxed Pokémon (so they don’t have better stats or anything). Gigantamax Form Pokémon can be obtained via certain Max Raid Battles or events.

In Sword and Shield, you explore the Galar region, based on the United Kingdom, alongside rivals Hop, Bede and Marnie, with the aim to dethrone the Pokémon League Champion.

They also reintroduce features previously seen in Sun and Moon and Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, such as regional variants and roaming Pokémon depicted in the overworld.
