Pokémon: Sword & Shield

Introduction

It was inevitable that a crafting feature would be added to the games.

The Cram-o-matic is a "Cramorant" IconCramorant-shaped machine located in the right-most room of the Master Dojo. After introducing yourself to the people at the dojo, you can give Hyde 500 Watts (a token amount) to power up the Cram-o-matic. Afterwards, you can use it for free.

How the Cram-o-matic works is that you combine four items (can be anything from the “berries”, “other items” or “treasures” tabs) to create a different item. Naturally, the item that you get out depends on the combination of items put in–in other words, the recipe. To make things easier, if you speak to Hyde, you can pay him 100 Watts to learn a recipe that will produce a specific item.

Recipes are divided into three types.

Simple Recipes: These recipes require 3+ of the same item and will have a guaranteed result, if done right. For example, 3 Bottle Caps (inserted as the first, third and fourth item) guarantees a Gold Bottle Cap.

Apricorn Recipes: If you insert 4 coloured Apricorns (eg. Pink Apricorn), you’ll receive one of a variety of Poké Balls. The Poké Ball you get is random; there’s a very small chance you’ll get a special, cosmetic ball such as a Love Ball.

General Recipes: More commonly, if the combination of items doesn’t fall into the above categories, the item you receive will depend on the “type” of the first item and the combined “value” of all four items. If you repeat the same recipe, you’ll get the same item.
