Diablo IV

Diablo 4 Malignant Heart Farm

By
Craig Robinson

Diablo 4 Season 1 has added in a new feature called the Malignant Hearts, which replace the gems that go into jewelry, offering some incredibly powerful bonuses instead. These bonuses are very important to specific seasonal builds, with players getting very powerful modifiers from these stats alone. So, if you’re interested, you can take a look at some of the ideal Diablo 4 Malignant Heart farms to help get you into the grind of new season.

Diablo 4 Malignant Heart Farms

Most Malignant Tunnels have several Corrupted Elites you need to beat, offering a few guaranteed Heart farms per run.

So, if you intend on farming Malignant Hearts in Diablo 4, especially the Wrathful Malignant Hearts, you will need to farm Malignant Tunnels. Thankfully, most of the Tunnels are fairly straight forward. You need to kill a few corrupted Elites, then do the final objective, which is often some kind of elite, and then you typically get the optional room at the end where you can use Invokers if you so wish.

It doesn’t really matter which one you do, as they all tend to have similar mob density, pathing, elites, with the only variations being the optional room at the end. Some of those have the Outgrowths, while others have the Echo of Varshan Monstrous Outgrowth. The Monstrous Outgrowth room typically is in:

When you’re inside the Tunnel of your choice, you ideally want to kill all elites and get all the hearts. This will allow you to rack up the Hearts, which you can then return to the Invoker Research Bench in "Kyovashad" iconKyovashad and dismantle them for their Ichors. This will allow you to begin crafting Uncertain Invokers, which will award one of the Invoker heart types at random. It is also the only way to craft a Malignant Invoker too, so, you will need to do this if you plan on farming some of the best Hearts in the game, such as Diablo 4’s The Barber. However, be aware that the RNG on finding a Wrathful from a Uncertain Invoker role is fairly rare, so, keep it mind if you’re planning on spending your resources.

So, go to whatever Tunnel you want, and farm it. We recommend farming the Fractured Peaks ones, just so you can easily city portal to Kyovashad, dismantle the hearts you don’t need, then go back into the portal, leave dungeon, then reset it. That way you can efficiently be in and out, and have the place reset too.

Also, it’s worth noting that you will likely need to keep up with your appearances at Nightmare Dungeons. The reason why is because of the Sigil Powder you need for crafting the Foul Invoker of Varshan for World Tier 3 boss fights, and the "Forgotten Soul" iconForgotten Souls and "Fiend Rose" iconFiend Rose from Helltides for World Tier 4 Boss Fights with the Tormented Invoker. Its worth mentioning that both Helltide chest openings, such as Helltide Mystery Chests, and defeating enemies in Nightmare dungeons or its events can droop Ichors too, so you dont need to worry about not farming Tunnels for Heart crafting RNG.

When you get round to fighting Varshan, you get better chances of getting the super rare world tier exclusive Wrathful Hearts, especially if you spend your Smoldering Ashes on the seasonal buff to increase your odds at the more OP Hearts in Season 1. Not to mention that Varshan tends to drop better rolls on Hearts, so, its always good to farm this boss for the best possible heart level and rolls for your build.

Lastly, for the Uncertain Heart method, know that Wrathful accounts for 25% of the total pool you can loot. However, it is weighted against them. Yet, its a cheaper method than grabbing Wrathful Invokers. So, its a gamble worth going for if you have the resources to sink into this gamba.

Hopefully you are now aware of how to farm Malignant Hearts in Diablo 4 Season 1!
