Diablo IV

Diablo 4 Sigil Powder Farms & Uses

By
Craig Robinson

Prior to Season 1, Sigil Powder was merely a currency players used to craft Nightmare Sigils. However, with the opening of Season 1, players are given the opportunity to use this currency to support seasonal content, and its likely to be a reoccurring theme through the season of Diablo 4. With that said, here’s a closer look at Sigil Powder in Diablo 4, including how you get it, and its current uses during Season 1.

How to Get Sigil Powder in Diablo 4

The main way to acquire Sigil Powder in Diablo 4 is to dismantle unwanted Nightmare Sigils. But, you can get them from events too.

To get "Sigil Powder" iconSigil Powder in Diablo 4, players will need to partake in various forms of content, such as:

  1. Nightmare Dungeon Runs
  2. Events in instanced and overworld content

Primarily, the main way you get Sigil Powder is by dismantling Nightmare Sigils at the Occultist. If you have one of the weaker dungeons, according to the Nightmare Dungeon Tier List, or perhaps a terrible affix, then dismantling it is a fair option. It is worthy to note that you often get multiple Nightmare Sigils a Nightmare Dungeon run, so you always have one to replace the one you use, and a few spare to get a stockpile of them. Once you have a healthy quantity of Sigils, then you can get start dismantling them for your Powder, and begin accruing your stockpile of Sigil Powder for various purposes.

The other way to get Sigil Powder is to take part in events, both in the overworld and in instanced content. Event chests have a chance to award all sorts of random awards. Sometimes, you will get crafting materials, like Sigil Powder, "Abstruse Sigil" iconAbstruse Sigil, "Angelbreath" iconAngelbreath, and more, or, you can get various forms of gear. This is another way to get a nice uptick of Sigil Powder every now and then.

How To Spend Sigil Powder In Dibalo 4

(1 of 2) You can craft Nightmare Sigils with !Sigil Powder if you so wish.

You can craft Nightmare Sigils with !Sigil Powder if you so wish. (left), Alternatively, you can spend them on the seasonal mechanic, like the Foul Invoker of Varhan in Diablo 4. (right)

So, the two main methods of spending Sigil Powder in Diablo 4 is for the Nightmare Dungeons grind, and now the seasonal crafting. Players who are trying to create new Sigils for their Nightmare Dungeon push can spend the Powder required to get a random level, affixes and dungeon, within the appropriate range of craft they did at the Occultist. This is mostly noticeable when you first enter World Tier 4, and want to buy some Sigils that only work in WT4 onwards. It is because Sigils only go up to rank 20 in WT3, so, you will be gated from acquiring higher levels until WT4. Stockpiling your Powder for that difficulty transition is a valid play.

On the other hand, you might be interested in the new seasonal mechanic. In Season 1, players can spend 50 Sigil Powder to upgrade an Invoker of Varshan for a Foul Invoker of Varshan. This will allow you to do the seasonal Echo of Varshan boss in Malignant Tunnels on World Tier 3 onwards. The boss often drops lots of Ichor, a random Heart, and can drop lots of gear too. Moreso, you need to defeat the boss at least once on Wt3, and then again on WT4 if you intend on unlocking the Uber Varshan boss, one of the seasonal boss challenges.

We are not sure if this will apply to other seasons in the future, but, its a good bet that the Nightmare Dungeon and any other seasonal content will blend together and create different target farms for you to look forward to. Hopefully, you now have a better idea of how Sigil Powder Works in Diablo 4.
