Diablo IV

Will Diablo 4 Be Cross Platform?

By
Ben Chard

Diablo 4 is almost upon us as we head towards launch on June 6th but before that, you have the Beta weekends to look forward to starting on March 17th. One question hot on the lips of many a player is whether Diablo 4 is indeed Cross Platform and more importantly, Cross Progression. You’ll find out all of the details you need to know about this right here.

Getting together a group for some demon slaying has never been easier with Diablo IV.

Is Diablo 4 Cross Play?

If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the launch of the Beta to play with your friends, you may be wondering if you can play with that one friend in your group that only has a PC, or maybe you’re all on the PS5 and a friend on the Xbox wants to join your merry band? Rest assured, Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 4 is fully cross platform, meaning it doesn’t matter where your friends are playing, you can always play together.

Is Diablo 4 Cross Progression?

So now you know that you can play with your group no matter the platform, the next big question is will your progress be saved and carried across the platforms. Maybe you start your playthrough on the Xbox, but decide to soon shift to the PC version as you’ve just got yourself a fantastic new rig? Is there any danger of losing your progress?

Thankfully, there’s no need to worry as once again, Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 4 will be cross progression too. All of this takes place by using your Battle.net account which you can access by heading to the Battle.net site here. You’ll need this anyway, as this is not only a requirement to redeem your early access code, but also to play the game in general as it has all of the data on your characters. Once you access any other version of Diablo 4, login to your Battle.net character and you’ll have full access to all of your progression.

Is Diablo 4 Region Free?

The world is truly a connected place these days, and everyone has online friends all over the globe, especially when it comes to multiplayer gaming. Thankfully, there are no region restrictions with Diablo 4 and as such, a player from Europe can easily play with a friend from the US or rest of the world.

This is different from how games such as Diablo 2 handled it as you had separate serves based on where in the world you’re based. Thankfully, Diablo 4 will give you the option to choose what servers you wish to play on, especially useful if you have poor Ping or if you’re looking for a server where the any of the Diablo 4 World Bosses, such as Diablo 4’s Ashava, may not have been killed yet!

Does Diablo 4 Have Couch Co-op?

The final question that needs answering when it comes to all things multiplayer in Diablo 4 is whether or not you can still play Diablo 4 Co-op in the classic way of having some friends over and playing couch Co-op on one screen. Good news, once again, Blizzard have confirmed that this is a feature that will make it into Diablo 4 so grab some friends over for an epic night of demon slaying!
