The Foul Invoker of Varshan is a seasonal item that you can craft in Diablo 4 Season 1, offering players the opportunity to encounter a new seasonal boss. But, before you can encounter them, you will need to complete a few things with zero hints from the game. Here’s everything you need you need to know about the Foul Invoker of Varshan in Diablo 4.
How to Get the Foul Invoker of Varshan in Diablo 4¶
(1 of 3) You must look for doors like this inside Malignant Tunnels to use your Invokers of Varshan.
To get your hands on this item, players will need to complete the Season 1 storyline, where you confront Varshan with Cormund. Once that part of the mission is done, then player will get a recipe called the Invoker of Varshan, along with one time use of it.
Now, what you need to do is to go into a Malignant Tunnel on World Tier 1 or 2, and look for a gate with a padlock on it near the end of the run. This indicates that you can fight Varshan once again if you have a Invoker on you. From our experience, not all Malignant Tunnels have this gate in. We are aware that two for sure have these gates, so we recommend trying the following:
The Boiling Wounds - Eastern Fractured Peaks- The
Ravening Pit - Untamed Scarps of the Dry Steppes, near 
The Ruins of Qara-Yisu
Once inside, complete the Malignant Tunnel as normal, then open the gate, and fight Varshan once again by using the Invoker of Varshan on the Monstrous Growth. This will spawn an appropriate difficulty Varshan for you to fight, with similar tactics for when you encountered it in the storyline.
Once you defeat the boss, you will then find it drops another recipe on the floor. This time, its for the Foul Invoker of Varshan. This item can now be crafted at the research stations. Once you have one, you can now use it on Monstrous Growths in Malignant Tunnels on World Tier 3 difficulty and beyond.
How To Craft A Foul Invoker of Varshan in Diablo 4¶

To do so, you will need to craft a Invoker of Varshan. To make one of these, you need:
- Brutal Malignant Invoker -Crafted by using Malignant Ichor, found from dismantling Malignant Hearts, or found in dungeon, tunnels, cellars and events
- Vicious Malignant Invoker - Crafted by using Malignant Ichor, found from dismantling Malignant Hearts, or found in dungeon, tunnels, cellars and events
- Devious Malignant Invoker - Crafted by using Malignant Ichor, found from dismantling Malignant Hearts, or found in dungeon, tunnels, cellars and events
Demon’s Heart -Found by defeating demon enemies in the overworld, cellars, and dungeons
Once you have one normal Varshan Invoker, you now need to collect 50 
Sigil Powder. This resource is commonly acquired by dismantling Nightmare Sigils at the Occultist. So, you will need to participate in the Nightmare Dungeon grind if you intend on fighting this echo boss as you progress through the end game world tiers.
Also, if you want to farm some of the more exotic Malignant Hearts in D4, then, make sure you don’t use up your Wrathful Invoker, as they offer access to some of the better hearts in the game.
