Diablo IV

How to Complete the Ferals' Den Dungeon in Diablo 4

By
Nathan Garvin

Scattered throughout the Scosglen you’ll find three Strongholds, corrupted bastions of civilization (well, as civilized as Druid dwellings can be, anyways) which have fallen under the sway of demonic influences. Despite their fall, these strongholds aren’t so corrupted as to preclude liberation, and once conquered, strongholds may become safe havens, offering some of the amenities of towns and perhaps unlocking new Dungeons.

Speaking of Dungeons, you’ll find them marked on your map with gate icons; often appearing in the form of ruins or caves. Filled with monsters, you’ll often have to fight your way through these dens of evil while completing various objectives, usually culminating in a fight with some dungeon boss at the end. In addition to the loot you’ll gain from vanquishing foes and looting chests in dungeons, you’ll also gain a scaling amount of XP and gold for completing a dungeon run. Furthermore, the first time you clear a dungeon you’ll earn an aspect unique to said dungeon, which can be used to empower gear. This page will provides a walkthrough for the Ferals’ Den Dungeon in Diablo 4, including how to find this dungeon, complete its objectives, and defeat the dungeon boss at the end.

The Ferals’ Den dungeon can be found in the Moordaine Lodge subregion.

Where to Find Ferals’ Den in Diablo 4

Feral’s Den in a Dungeon in the northeastern edge of Scosglen, in the small subarea Moordaine Lodge, which is also a Stronghold. You must conquer this Stronghold before you can access the Ferals’ Den, see the provided link for a walkthrough for said Stronghold. Once conquered, you’ll find the Ferals’ Den Dungeon along the northernmost point of "Moordaine Lodge" iconMoordaine Lodge.

Once inside the dungeon you’ll be tasked with completing the following objectives:

  • Collect Animus from Animus Carriers
  • Deposit Animus into the Animus Urn
  • Travel to the Feral Depths
  • Activate the Runestone: 2
  • Travel to the Ritual of Rampage
  • Defeat Innes, Vengeance of Glor-an-Fhaidha

How to Clear Feral’s Den in Diablo 4

Ferals’ Den is a rather straight-forward Dungeon, objective-wise, filled with numerous Elites you need to hunt down in winding warrens. Its simplicity, enemy density and numerous Elites make it a popular grinding spot.

First up you’ll need to “Collect Animus from Animus Carriers, which tasks you with hunting down numerous Elites enemies. We had to kill seven such enemies before gathering enough Anima, which drops in the form of orbs when defeated - just kill the Elites and run over the Animus they drop. These Elites aren’t otherwise anything special, but drop the same loot as normal Elites do. Keep in mind that there’s no rule keeping these Animus Carriers from spawning near each other, and you’ll likely encounter them in pairs at least once.

Once you’ve acquired enough Animus the objective will change to “Deposit Animus into the Animus Urn”, which just requires you to find the aforementioned urn near the door to the next area - the Feral Depths - and interact with said urn. Once filled, the door to the Feral Depths will open and you’ll be given the next objective “Travel to the Feral Depths”.

In the Feral Depths - the second half of this Dungeon - your overarching goal is to “Activate the Runestones”. There are two large runestones scattered throughout this Dungeon, and you just need to find and interact with both of them to open the way to the boss chamber, the “Ritual of Rampage”. Killing enemies along the way is incidental, but you probably will at least need to dispatch anything close to the Runestones to be able to use them.

Interact with both Runestones and the “Travel to the Ritual of Rampage” will take over. Just head to the boss chamber, and you’ll get this Dungeon’s final objective: Defeat Innes, Vengeance of Glor-an-Fhaidha.

(1 of 3) Innes will pelt you with cyclones, which are themselves a stationary threat, but they can expel damaging bolts to harry you at range, too.

How to Defeat Innes, Vengeance of Glor-an-Fhaidha

At the end of this Dungeon you’ll encounter Innes, Vengeance of Glor-an-Fhaidha, this Dungeon’s boss. This Druid has the following attacks:

  • Lightning Bolt: A red bolt of electricity, this is little more than a love tap to keep you honest between the boss’s more powerful attacks.

  • Cyclone: Your adversary will summon persistent whirlwinds. These come in two forms, large and small, and both types are static, rooted to where they’re conjured. It’s easy enough to escape them when you see them, but they also shoot out bolts in a fan formation, making them persistent hazards even if you’re not within their area.

  • Lightning Mines: Innes, Vengeance of Glor-an-Fhaidha will shoot an arc of electricity at you, and while alarming, this lightning doesn’t really do anything on its own, but it will spawn persistent lightning mines on the ground beneath you after a delay. Several of these will spawn, so don’t get complacent and keep moving. If you get caught in one, it’ll deal moderate damage and inflict the Vulnerable debuff.

  • Lightning Strikes: The hostile Druid will call down a line of lightning bolts, which will strike the areas indicated by reticles. These can be somewhat faint and strike in a sequence, but aren’t hard to dodge if you keep moving. After each line of lightning strikes terminates it’ll spawn a wave of static energy that rolls across the ground.

Innes, Vengeance of Glor-an-Fhaidha isn’t a terribly mobile foe, nor are his attacks all that powerful. As long as you keep moving and don’t get caught in any futile slugfests you shouldn’t have much trouble putting the Druid down.

Defeat Innes, Vengeance of Glor-an-Fhaidha and you’ll complete this Dungeon, earning Renown and access to the "Aspect of Quicksand" iconAspect of Quicksand.
