Diablo 4 Tree of Whispers Explained¶

When you get the Priority Quest to return to the Tree of Whispers, you will gain access to some side content that you can run. The Tree will offer you a variety of dungeons, Cellars, World Events, and some general open-world farms that you can do as you go about your gameplay.

Each task comes with various rewards of Grim Favors, which are basically points, with dungeons typically giving around 5, Cellars and other World Events around 3, and around 1 for more trivial open-world tasks. When you reach 10 !Grim Favors earned via the Tree of Whispers, you may go to The Tree of Whispers Waypoint, and turn your shards in for a box of loot, ranging from one of three options the tree gives you. Normally, the rewards are focused on a primary armor slot that you can use, which will also give you variations of crafting resources and gold too.

So, it makes it a decent passive farm you can do when you have downtime to target farm resources, and item slots for gear pieces you want, especially if they are amulets or 2 handed weapon powers, or maybe even uniques. Moreso, the Tree of Whispers brings you to World Events, which also help with that target farming method, as you get Murmuring Obols, a currency that allows you to gamba on specific item slots.

So, they are for sure worth doing if you fancy some easy-to-do world content on your own time. Also, don’t feel like you have to cash in right away, as you can stock up on points, and do multiple cash-ins simultaneously if you desire.

So, this is a decent way of generating additional crafting reagents if you’re just fishing for crafting materials, or a good way to get specific legendary items or uniques if you’re looking for something to complete your build.

Collection of Chaos¶

The Collection of Chaos is one of the only rewards that doesn’t immediately make sense in the Tree of Whispers reward options. The reason why is because everything else targeted towards a specific item slot on your character. Meanwhile, Chaos is designed to giver you some very random results. You can expect any piece of gear to drop from it, along with a lot of currency, gold and other end game items that may or may not be useful to you.
