Diablo IV

Diablo 4 Max Level: Max Level and Paragon Cap Explained

By

Like all the games under the Diablo banner, players can create a character, level it up, and then begin progressing through the end game features. Diablo 4 is no different, and players will have to begin leveling up to progress through the game’s storyline and end game. But don’t worry, as the level cap is not that high. So, here’s a closer look at the Diablo 4 max level, taking into account regular levels and paragon levels.

The main questline will get you to around level 50, but after that you’ll need to move onto World Tier 3 (Nightmare) and World Tier 4 (Torment) to keep advancing.

Diablo 4 Max Level

The max level in Diablo 4 is 100, but there are some changes after level 50, which complicate matters somewhat. Enemies and loot scales to your level, mostly, but in World Tier 1 (Adventurer) and World Tier 2 (Veteran) loot will stop scaling around level 43~, and generally you should expect to hit level 50 by the time you’re done with the main questline. To continue progressing fully you’ll need to conquer the ["Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon" iconCathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon] on World Tier 2 to unlock World Tier 3 (Nightmare), which continues scaling from level 50 to 70. After level 70 you’ll need to clear the Fallen Temple Capstone Dungeon, and defeat Elias, Hatred’s Remnant to unlock World Tier 4 (Torment), which is suited for characters level 71-100.

Once you reach level 50 you’ll stop gaining Skill Points, instead earning Paragon Points you can use to unlock nodes on Paragon Boards.

Aside from making leaps to higher World Tiers at the aforementioned levels, the way your character advances after level 50 fundamentally changes. From levels 2-50 you’ll gain a Skill Point every time you level up, for a total of 48 Skill Points (another 10 can be earned from Renown for a maximum of 58 Skill Points), but upon attaining level 50 you’ll unlock your first [Paragon Board], and you will gain four Paragon Points every level (one point every 1/4 an experience bar) which you can use to unlock nodes on said Paragon Board.

Keep in mind that your experience level will still increase past level 50, and you’ll still gain stats when this happens, but no Skill Points. Enemy levels will continue to increase with yours, as will gear, so you’ll have to keep things updated as you advance. Leveling slows down considerably past level 50, however, and a good legendary or unique item can last you quite a long time.

Level Note
2-50 +1 Skill Point/level
43~ Gear in the Normal difficulties stops scaling
50-100 +4 Paragon Points/level
51-70 World Tier 3 (Nightmare) recommended level range
70+ World Tier 4 (Torment) recommended level range
