Diablo IV

Diablo 4 Wandering Death World Boss: Location, Loot and Tactics

By
Craig Robinson

The !Wandering Death is the third and final World Boss in Diablo 4. This creature is a giant amalgamation of bones, similar to that of a Lich and "Tomb Lord" iconTomb Lord combined together. The result is one bone-stormy boy, with giant death lazer beams and grasping skeleton hands to pull you into your doom. With the hype out of the way, here’s everything you need to know about the Diablo 4 1Wandering Death World Boss.

Diablo 4 Wandering Death World Boss

(1 of 3) The boss will use Death Grips to pull players closer, and make them take damage.

Firstly, to participate in this world boss, players will need to have completed the campaign, and have a world boss event up in one of the several locations around the map. Once you are activated on the world map, you can head over and await the boss spawning. Note that each world boss event has a chance to be Avarice and Ashava. You will know it’s the !Wandering Death when you see the dark, ghostly energies coming from the ground, surrounded by a huge pile of bones.

As for the tactics, there are not a great deal of threats. However, failing to obey the wishes of the !Wandering Death will result in a certain death.

  • Death Vortex: The boss throws out whirling AOES, which will deal damage and daze you, preventing you from being able to attack until you leave the tornado effect.
  • Bone Prison: The boss will spawn bone prisons around players. You need to escape the bone prison by destroying the wall or being able to move skill out of it. The boss will then slam down and kill anyone still inside the prison
  • Extended Bone Prison: Later into the fight the boss can spawn multiple Bone Prisons. These Bone Prisons then explode, sending out bone splinters from any remaining walls. When there are several of them, you ideally need to move to the edge of one and escape to avoid being hit by multiple bits of shrapnel, as that can kill you.
  • Death Grip: The boss will occasionally send out bony tendons towards a location. The lower HP the boss, the more death grips and their speed increases. Players caught will be dragged closer towards the boss, and take damage.

Players can get their weekly cache of goodies upon defeating the boss, along with drop from the boss itself. The result is that players can get their hands on "Scattered Prism" iconScattered Prisms, a form of crafting resource used to place gem sockets onto gear. This is going to be very important as parts of your end-game crafting, as getting sockets on gear will allow the player to do more damage to CC, Vulnerable, or basic attack damage, with each one being important to certain build playstyles.
