Diablo IV

How to Find Godslayer Crown - Diablo 4 Season 2

By
Nathan Garvin

Unique items have always been keenly sought after in Diablo games… even back in 1997, when they often carried a significant downside. They’re rare, they’re gold, they have unique properties, are hand-crafted, and as of Diablo 3, they shoot out pillars of light! Who can resist? That said, when Diablo 4 launched it was a bit light on unique gear, something that has been steadily improved upon with the addition of new uniques near the start of Season 2. One of these uniques, the "Godslayer Crown" iconGodslayer Crown, stands out from the rest and has earned its way into some prominent builds. On this page we’ll discuss the Godslayer Crown, including its stats, what builds find it useful, and how to farm the Godslayer Crown.

Several new uniques were added to the game as of Season 2, including the Godslayer Crown.

Godslayer Crown Stats

The Godslayer Crown is a unique helmet that can drop for all classes. It has the following properties:

  • +% Cooldown Reduction
  • +% Crowd Control Duration
  • +Maximum Life
  • +% Damage

The exact values of these stats are determined by RNG, and the maximum range of these stats can vary by Item Power, which is also variable. That being the case, finding a Godslayer Crown at lower levels can be… somewhat disappointing, something that holds true for most uniques. In addition to those aforementioned stats, the Godslayer Crown also has the unique modifier:

When you Stun, Freeze, or Immobilize an Elite enemy, or damage a Boss, it Pulls In Nearby enemies. You deal [30 - 60]%[x] increased damage to them for 3 seconds. This effect can only occur once every 12 seconds.

A damage buff is always nice, and some classes need help grouping enemies together to better dispose of them. When this need is combined with a class that can easily afflict debuffs like stun, freeze, and immobilize, you’ve got a very interesting combo. In the case of the Sorcerer, there are several builds that both need help grouping enemies and can afflict debuffs, namely the freeze debuff thanks to the ever-useful Frost Nova skill. These include Sorcerers who specialize in skills like ["Ball Lightning" iconBall Lightning], Fire Wall, Meteor, "Arc Lash" iconArc Lash and Ice Shards… It’s a very popular option for Sorcerers, in general!

How to Find the Godslayer Crown

Like most uniques, the Godslayer Crown can drop just about anywhere… as soon as you reach World Tier 3 or World Tier 4. In the former it’ll drop as a Sacred quality item and in the latter case it can drop as an Ancestral quality item, with an Item Power ranging from 600-925. Obviously, the later you get it, the better odds you’ll have that it’ll have higher stat ranges, which correlate with a higher Item Power score. The best places to farm the Godslayer Crown are, unfortunately, largely limited to the general sources of farming unique drops, namely defeating the Ancients during Blood Harvest events and completing Nightmare Dungeons. Other than that, Duriel, Maggot King can drop Godslayer Crown - among many, many other uniques, unfortunately being the only uber boss who can drop this item, despite the fact that Godslayer Crown itself isn’t an uber unique.
