The Life Medal is a pouch item that increases your maximum heart count by 1. So if you currently have 10 hearts and you carry a Life Medal, you’ll have 11 hearts. Meanwhile, if you carry 2, you’ll have 12 hearts.
If you need an additional safety net or two, these are nice to carry around.
