The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

Lizalfos

By
Vincent Lau

(1 of 2) Lizalfos in the Earth Temple.

Lizalfos in the Earth Temple. (left), Slash them where they aren’t guarding or parry them with a shield bash. (right)

A green lizard with an armguard and spiky tail. They can use their armguard to block your attacks, and attack by swinging their tail or breathing out fire.

Location Spoils
Earth Temple, Volcano Summit, Shipyard Lizard Tails, Hearts

How to Defeat

Similar to Bokoblins, you have to slash the Lizalfos in the right direction–away from their armguard. Unlike Bokos, Lizalfos are more agile and reactive, and have lots of HP. So patience is a virtue.

Beware of hitting the Lizalfos’s armguard, as they’ll usually counter with an uppercut. Also, from time to time, they may breathe fire, which you can block with a non-wooden shield. Or just keep your distance until they’re done.

If you’re having a hard time, wait for a Lizalfos to wind up for a tail swipe, then perform a shield bash to stun them.
