How to Defeat¶
Initially, you can fight the Stalmaster in a similar manner to the Stalfos. It will use its two swords to guard its body–carefully slash in the direction where it’s unprotected. For example, if it’s holding its swords in a L-shape, you need to slash diagonally into the L.
When the Stalmaster is holding four swords, the strategy remains unchanged. It will always hold the swords in a square shape, usually leaving one side unprotected. If all four sides are protected, that means the center is unprotected, so perform a sword thrust.
While you’re fighting, be wary when the Stalmaster slows down and starts to raise its swords up. It’ll follow with multiple sword swings, depending on how many swords its holding. So if it’s got four swords, expect four sword swings.
If you anticipate an attack from the Stalmaster, shield bashes are very effective, as they make its arms fall off. Bombs also achieve the same effect, although they’ll take a while to go off.
