The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

Beetle

By
Vincent Lau

(1 of 2) The Beetle is located inside the first dungeon.

The Beetle is located inside the first dungeon. (left), You can use the Beetle to navigate in the air like an extension of yourself. (right)

The Beetle is an ancient remote-controlled drone that you can control mid-air to hit distant objects from various positions or retrieve small objects.

Unlike the Slingshot, which only fires in a straight line and has limited range, the Beetle can fly freely around and can even travel through narrow and curved tunnels.

However, be careful not to bump the Beetle into walls etc. or you’ll have to start all over. Also, there is a limit on the flight time–and if you try to fly too faraway from Link.

Where to Find

The Beetle is found inside a treasure chest in the Skyview Temple, after vanquishing the Stalfos mini-boss.

Upgrades

Your Beetle will automatically be upgraded into the Hook Beetle during your quest in Lanayru Desert.
