Now that the events of Cid The Outlaw have played out, you will be able to visit the new Hideaway. This time, it’s a larger area to explore, and over the next few quests, you will be unlocking brand-new features. This quest focuses on finding and catching up with old friends, as well as learning what’s happened over the past five years by exploring The Hideaway. The guide below goes over how to complete the twenty-first main story quest Home, Sweet Home in Final Fantasy XVI.
How to Navigate The Second Hideaway¶
Now that you’re done learning about Clive taking on Cid’s name, you will head to The Hideaway that’s located on an airship ruin. This is a large area with lots to do, and your job is to check in with your friends. Once your boat lands, take the elevator up to the main base. Walk inside towards the quest marker and you will speak with Otto. Once he tells you about Gav, walk over to the silver-haired woman at the table Vivian. Vivian will update you on the state of the world over the last five years. You can speak with her again to see how characters are related, and how their relationships have changed over the years. She will also show you how the war has changed the world in this time period as well.
The conversation ends with Vivian giving Clive a book to return to Harpocrates . Once you hand it over, leave the room to speak with Tarja. She will reveal that she removed Clive’s mark. Your final stop will be in Clive’s quarters near the top of the airship. In the room is a Trophy Wall you can examine, and Clive’s desk. Beside the desk is an area for letters, interact with it to read Gav’s report. After learning that the Republican Army is on the move a cutscene between Clive and Jill will play where they talk about their plan. The scene ends after jumping to Joshua and then back to Otto who tells Clive that Martha is missing. This will start the next quest, The Gathering Storm.
How to Use State of Realm¶
You can speak with Vivian at any time to view how things are going in the realm, this is called State of Realm. There are two options to choose from here, one that shows your character relationships and how they’ve progressed over the years and another for world conflicts. The character relationships show how Clive and the rest of the cast have developed over the years and who they are allowed or fighting with. When you look at the world, you will see what countries possess what land and who they are fighting throughout the years.
