As you approach the last third of Final Fantasy 16, you’ll begin to unlock some stronger and unique accessories within the game, and Genji Gloves is just that. This accessory gives you a flat 5% damage upgrade, and it can also be used in New Game Plus to make an even stronger version! This page will detail when, how, and where you can get the Genji Gloves in FF16.
Where to get the Genji Gloves in FF16¶
While playing through the game, you’ll begin to obtain a unique currency called Renown. This is rewarded to you every time you complete any of the following: main story quests, side quests, and hunts. This can then be spent in the Patron of Whispers shop at the Hideaway counter on the Mess.
There are sixteen “ranks” all requiring more Renown the lower the list you go. For Genji Gloves, you’ll need to reach the second from the last rank “Continental Acclaim” which means that you’ll need at least 2,365 Renown.

What does Genji Gloves do in FF16¶
Once you’ve got your grubby mitts on the Genji Gloves, you’ll notice that they offer you a 5% damage increase. Although this isn’t great at first sight, this accessory is the only flat damage increase accessory in the game other than its New Game Plus counterpart. Talking of New Game Plus, you can combine two accessories together, and this is where Genji Gloves shine as you can place the damage increase onto Adamantite Gauntlets for example which would give you 500 HP and a 5% damage increase.
Genji Gloves + 1¶
In New Game Plus, you can obtain a second pair of Genji Gloves which you can combine with the original version you got in your first play-through to craft Genji Gloves + 1. This will raise the damage to a more respectable 10%. Note, that you won’t be able to craft these until you get all the Renown again in New Game Plus, so you’ll be waiting a while until you can craft them. When you have the second set of Genji Gloves, head over to 
Blackthorne to craft them.
Genji Gloves increase your damage by 5% while the NG+ version will increase it by 10%.
