The While the Cat’s Away side quest in Final Fantasy 16 can be acquired in 
Martha’s Rest once you reach the Righting Wrongs main quest. Here you’ll find a person named the Inn Hand and she’ll request that you deal with the uninvited guests. We’ll take you through the necessary steps to completion and how to defeat the soldiers.

How to Start the While the Cat’s Away Side Quest in Final Fantasy 16¶
First things first, you’ll need to have completed the main story mission The Meaning of Life, and be on Righting Wrongs. When those requirements have been met, head over to 
Martha’s Rest and speak with the Inn Hand to begin this quest. Here you’ll learn that a bunch of bandits are causing mayhem at the stable since Martha has gone and she needs your help to put a stop to it.
How to Defeat the Uninvited Guests¶
Once you’re done talking to the Inn Hand, visit the nearby shop and stock up on 
Potions as although you won’t need them for this quest they’ll come in handy in future side quests, so its alway best to be prepared. You’ll now have two option, explore the surrounding area for chests or head straight into The Golden Stable. Upon entering you’ll be greeted by two Uninvited Guests. These are two regular enemies which means their attacks will barely you flinch.

Simply keep them close together and unleash all of your attacks on them, such as 
Gouge, 
Heatwave and 
Aerial Blast and they should go down relatively quickly. After they’ve been dealt with Martha and the Inn Hand will return and thank you for saving the day, then the quest will come to a close and you’ll be rewarded with 
Steelsilk x5 which can be used for crafting.
