Final Fantasy 16 has a lot of side content, among them is obtaining the illustrious 
Ragnarok which is not only a great weapon, but it’s also needed to craft the legendary sword, 
Gotterdammerung. Eventually, this will then lead into the best weapon in the game, the Ultima Weapon. This page will detail all the steps needed to take to get your hands on this fan favorite in FFXVI.
Ragnarok is a late-game weapon used in the construction of the best weapon, Gotterdammerung in FF16.
Where to get the Ragnarok Recipe in FF16¶
Unlike all the other weapons in the game, you can’t get a recipe for Ragnarok. Instead, you’ll need to complete the Blacksmith’s Blues IV side quest, which will reward you with the weapon. There are four quests in total, and you’ll need to complete each one of them before you can access the last. You can check out our guides for each side quest below:
As with all Blacksmith’s Blues side quests, you start it by talking to 
August in The Mess, near the Counter in the Hideaway who’ll tell you that 
Blackthorne appears to be down in the dumps again. You’ll discover that some trouble regarding the 
Akashic is brewing in 
Dravozd, Blackthorne’s hometown. Unlike the previous Blacksmith’s Blues quests, he suggests keeping this information to yourself, and not involving Blackthorne.
After making your way to Dravozd, you’ll get a couple of short scenes, lo and behold, Blackthorne has followed you here, and he’s none too happy about you leaving him out of this. Speak to August again to start the defense of Dravozd, and you’ll have to take out a few waves of Akashic before dealing with the main threat, a Chimera. This “boss” has most of the attacks that the Gorgimera Hunt has, so read up its attacks on the linked page. Once defeated, head back to Dravozd to speak to 
Zoltan for a scene, then return to the Hideaway to talk to Blackthorne who will finish the quest, giving you the Ragnarok weapon as a reward.
Ragnarok is a legendary weapon boasting a massive 325 Attack, and 325 Stagger!
Ragnarok Stats in FF16¶
Once you have the Ragnarok, keep this safe, and don’t sell it once you’re done with it as it’s used to create the best weapon for the first play-through, Gotterdammerung, which can then be turned into the Ultima Weapon in New Game Plus.
