Final Fantasy XVI takes you across several locations, including to the village of 
Lostwing. After you free the villagers, in Louder Than Words, Clive will start planning his next move to find the second fire Dominant. The eighth main story quest, 
The Dead of Night, has you checking for intel in Lostwing, and then heading up the road towards the location that you discover. The guide below will tell you what NPCs you need to talk to, and what road to take to get to 
Caer Norvent.

Where to Use The Hanged Man in Lostwing¶
This quest opens up with Cid telling Clive that they need to wait before rushing after the 
Dominant in Caer Norvent. You will be instructed to gather intel around Lostwing first, something that will only take a few minutes of your time. If you exit out of the Inn, you will find 
Quinten who gives you The Hanged Man. This item allows you to gather information from Lostwing villagers without having any pushback. The first person you need to speak with is a lady near the inn’s upper level, follow the quest marker, and speak with her to learn more about the Dominant.
- While you are near the Inn, go up the stairs inside and climb the ladders all the way up to the top, here you will find a Histoire Orchestrion Roll.
You will now need to talk to a woodcutter, he can be found north of the first woman and will give you a bit more info about the captive. After this, return to Cid who is waiting closer to the Inn to discuss what you know. Another cutscene will play and you will rest for the night, afterward you will set out for
1Caer Norvent.

How to Get to Caer Norvent¶
Take the north road from Lostwing towards Caer Norvent. You will run into several Royal enemy types along the way, and be able to find a few items lying around like Gil and Valley Madder, The road ahead is straightforward so keep following it until you get another cutscene.

At this point, you will be taken back to the main map and can select Caer Norvent when you’re ready to start the Headwind quest.
