FF16 - Lines in the Sand Side Quest Walkthrough

By
Shane Williams

The Lines in the Sand side quest in Final Fantasy 16 can be acquired at "The Briar's Kiss" iconThe Briar’s Kiss once you reach the Across the Narrow main quest. Here you’ll find an NPC named L’ubor who is the towns blacksmith. He’ll tell you about some outlaws that are recruiting people for a new group and needs your help to stop them. We’ll take you through the necessary steps to completion and finding the bandits.

Speak with L’ubor to begin this quest.

L’ubor reports that the bandits who previously attacked Dalimil have formed a “League of Outlaws,” and are steadily recruiting new members. He asks for Clive’s aid in nipping their organization efforts in the bud.

How to Start the Lines in the Sand Side Quest in Final Fantasy 16

First things first, you’ll need to have completed the main story mission Through the Maelstrom, and be on Across the Narrow. When those requirements have been met, head over to L’ubor who can be found at The Briar’s Kiss which is located at "The Dalimil Inn" iconThe Dalimil Inn. Speak with him and you’ll learn that there’s some outlaws are forming a new group and he needs your help stopping it before things turn bad.

Where to Find the Bandits

Once you’re done talking to L’ubor, head over to The Desert Gate and speak with "Viktor" iconViktor to see if he knows of the bandits whereabouts. You’ll then want to head to the northernmost point of The Southern Velkroy Desert and you’ll find the bandit camp set up beside The River Velkroy. These are just normal enemies, so you’ll want to group them together with "Ignition" iconIgnition, then activate any AoE Ability, such as "Flames of Rebirth" iconFlames of Rebirth or "Aerial Blast" iconAerial Blast to deplete most of their health. At this point a couple "Magic Burst" iconMagic Bursts should finish them off.

After you’ve cleared out the first group of enemies some more will spawn in, so you want to repeat the same process, but focus on the League Cunning-man first, as he can heal up the other enemies which will make your life more difficult. Once you’ve dealt with the bandits Viktor will appear and inform you that the people of Dalimil have discovered that L’ubor is a "Bearer" iconBearer and they aren’t happy, so enter the Tavern and talk to "Natalie" iconNatalie and "Konrad" iconKonrad to see if they can come to terms with it.

Unfortunately, they won’t forgive L’ubor so return to him and bring him up to speed on the situation and the quest will come to a close. Here you’ll be rewarded with "Magicked Ash" iconMagicked Ash x120 and "Meteorite" iconMeteorite x1 for your troubles.
