There are many materials scattered around the world in V Rising and these are needed to craft better armor and weapons. Spectral Dust is a resource needed to craft Dark Steel Ingots, but it can be difficult to come by, so on this page, we’ll navigate you through the necessary steps to find it!

Spectral Dust is needed to make dark steel ingots.

Finding Spectral Dust¶

You can either craft Spectral Dust via the Advanced Grinder or by farming enemies in the Cursed Forest.

Farming Method¶

You can acquire Spectral Dust by killing Banshees which can be found in the Cursed Villages which is located in the Cursed Forest (northeast of the map). The first thing you’ll immediately notice is that the minimap is hidden and this will make navigating the area trickier. However, you can get around this by either flying up into the air which will reveal the map temporarily or you can attack the wisp which are scattered around the area. Unfortunately, this is an extremely low drop rate, so we suggest you take the crafting route.

Crafting Method¶

If you want to craft Spectral Dust then you’ll need to get your hands on the Advanced Grinder recipe and this can be done by defeating Domina the Blade Dancer. She is a level 60 Boss who can be found in the Rustlock Village in Gloomrot South. With the recipe in your possession, you’ll need 8 Reinforced Planks and 60 Tech Scrap to craft it. Reinforced Planks can be obtained by putting 4 Iron Ingots and 4 Planks into the Sawmill. Tech Scrap is acquired by defeating robotic enemies and destroying crates in the Gloomrot Area.

Once you’ve successfully built the Advanced Grinder you’ll need to get your hands on Ghost Crystals and Scourgestone before you can start crafting Spectral Dust. Scourgestone can be crafted via the furnace with Whetstone, Glass and Grave Dust or it can be obtained by defeating specific enemies, such as the Undead Commander who can be found in the Church of the Damned. You can find multiple Ghost Crystals scattered around the villages in the Cursed Forest.

Spectral Dust Use¶

You can combine Spectral Dust with Silver Ore at the Advanced Furnace to make Dark Steel Ingots and this is needed to craft the dark silver equipment, such as the Dark Silver Sword.
