You’ve finally made it to the end of the Tyrant’s Star dungeon, and you’re ready for your final confrontation with Louis. From the save point in the Melancholia Depths, head north and you will finally come face-to-face with Louis. However, after some conversation with him, he ends up transforming into Archdemon Louis Charadrius, triggering the battle.
All of Archdemon Louis Charadrius’ Attacks¶
The fight against Archdemon Louis is pretty normal, with not much to go on here. He will do some talking at around 50% HP, which is when he’ll start doing the Anxiety moves, as well as the heal and Dekunda.
-
Quadwing Sweep: Deals extreme physical Slash damage to one row.
-
Quadwing Pierce: Deals medium physical Pierce damage to all characters 2-4 times.
-
Octowing Crush: Deals extreme physical Strike damage to all characters.
-
Hamadyne: Deals heavy magical Light damage to a single character.
-
Mudodyne: Deals heavy magical Dark damage to a single character.
-
Cyclone: Deals heavy magical Wind damage to a single character.
-
Blizzaton: Deals heavy magical Ice damage to a single character.
-
Anxiety Convergence: Louis will assume a defensive position and start charging up an attack. Do enough damage to stop it.
-
Anxiety Explosion: If you don’t stop the above, Louis will unleash a big attack, dealing Almighty damage to all characters for multiple hits.
-
Dekunda: Removes all debuffs on himself. He will pretty much use this anytime you cast a debuff, so you could do this to make him waste an action.
-
Deimahan: A healing spell that Louis will begin using under 50% HP. It only heals like 650 HP, so it’s not much.
Archdemon Louis Charadrius Boss Strategy¶
The boss battle against Archdemon Louis is not going to be the final one, as there is another one after this. Archemon Louis is fairly basic, but don’t let that fool you, as he gets a good number of Turn Icons. Having your Royal Archetypes will be very good here, especially both Heismay and Hulkenberg, as they have passives that can make this battle (and the subsequent one) much easier on yourself. As for damage, Louis will not have any resistances/weaknesses at all, so you are free to use whatever you want to attack him. If you wish to use someone like Junah to create weaknesses, then do that, but you could also go the critical hit route to do the same thing.
For the most part, Louis will typically use one of three moves right off the bat on his turn, which are Quadwing Sweep, Quadwing Pierce, or Octowing Crush. Sweep hits an entire row, so everyone might not get hit depending on which characters you bring. The other two attacks will hit everyone, so you won’t be able to avoid those ones. If his attack isn’t repelled or dodged, then it’s likely he will follow up with one of the four elemental spells listed above. It definitely helps if you don’t have anyone weak to those elements, as you don’t want Louis to get more Turn Icons.
Once he hits around 50% HP or so, he will spout some dialog and the second phase will begin. This is when he’ll start using Anxiety Convergence, where he assumes a defensive position and starts charging a follow-up attack. If you don’t deal enough damage to break this shield on the one full turn, then he will use Anxiety Explosion to deal Almighty damage to your entire party. Should you succeed, though, then the attack won’t be used and he’ll resort to using his normal set of attacks.
Louis will start to use Dekunda to remove debuffs at this time, as well as Deimahan to heal himself. If you wish to get him to waste one of his actions, then continue using debuffs. The heal isn’t much here, only about 650 or so HP, which means you shouldn’t be worried about it at all. Apart from the Anxiety attack, removing debuffs, and the heal, this battle pretty much remains the same.
After defeating Louis here, watch the following cutscenes, putting the protagonist with More for the time being. This will be another one of the instances where you can get a bad ending, so make sure you pay attention and avoid siding with More here. This will eventually lead to a one-on-one battle with More, which is pretty hard to lose, but let’s cover it a little bit.
More Boss Guide¶
As mentioned above, the battle with More is just with the protagonist, but it should be a fairly basic battle that shouldn’t trouble you at all. More will always go through the same set of abilities, so it’s easy to know what’s coming next from him. He’ll start off with Knight’s Defence, then go with Seeker’s Gale second. He’ll then move onto Giant Slice and Boatona for the next set of attacks. The last set of attacks will be Adamant Nightblade, then Hamadyne. The Adamant Nightblade will lower your hit rate/evasion, so you might want to worry about that.
Since you should have the Prince Archetype on your protagonist, he should be pretty beefy in terms of defenses, especially if you have him leveled up to get the one skill that basically resists everything. If you feel like things are getting out of hand, just use a healing item (or healing spell), then continue beating down More. Once you bring him down, there will be more scenes, then it’s time to finally tackle the final boss.
