The Summoner is another of the basic Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio, albeit one of the more powerful. It uses items called Vessels to summon monsters to perform a variety of roles in a battle, from dealing damage to healing allies - making it quite flexible. These Vessels can be crafted in Akademeia with the right materials and then equipped. By default the class is weak to Ice damage but strong against Dark damage.

Investing in the Summoner will allow you to unlock its advanced form: the Devil Summoner. The Summoner Archetype is a tricky class to learn, but for those experienced in Atlus’ games you may find a lot of use for it.

How to unlock the Summoner Archetype¶

The Summoner is unlocked on Virga Island on a free day after the events at the Dragon God Temple, quite far into the game. During these days you can befriend Eupha and reach Rank 1 with the bond.

With this rank you can then purchase the Summoner for you and your party for a small amount of MAG as you work towards ranking it up and unlocking new Vessels in Akademeia.

Summoner Skills¶

While the Summoner’s skills can change slightly depending on the Vessels, its base Skills are:

• Status Differential - [Hero Passive] Enemy attacks in overworld combat will not trigger an enemy advantage in squad battles.
• Summon Eagle Lion - Deals heavy magic Wind damage to all enemies. Lowers their attack fro 3 turns (38 MP)
• Summon Noctiluca - Cures one ally’s status ailment and grants 10% HP recovery for their next 3 turns (22 MP)

The rest of the Skills, which you obtain from the Vessels, can be find in our dedicated Metaphor: ReFantazio Vessels guide. These initial skills though are quite useful, although as with most Summoner skills come with high MP costs so you want to be careful and strategic with when you use them.

Summoner Synthesis Skills¶

The Summoner has access to these Synthesis skills:

• Summon Lizardman - Deals extreme physical Electric damage to one enemy. Lowers their defense for 3 turns (14 MP) [Allies needed: Knight, Healer, or Commander Lineages]
• Summon Eagle Lion King - Deals extreme magic Wind damage to all enemies. Significantly decreases their attack for 3 turns (18 MP) [Allies needed: Seeker, Mage, or Healer Lineages]
• Summon Dragon God - Requires Priestess Heart. Deals severe magic Fire damage to all enemies and removes buff effects (22 MP) [Allies needed: Mage, Masked Dancer, or Summoner Lineages]
