Some of the side quests in Metaphor: ReFantazio are short and sweet, like the Dental Distress quest in Port Brilehaven. This quest will have you venturing to the village of Inundo to buy the Toothbrush of Hygienia. Thankfully, this is a short ride with your gauntlet runner, but considering it will take up some free time, it’s best to pair it up with the other quests in the area.
Dental Distress Location¶
When you first arrive at Port Brilehaven, you will have to go through some story bits. Once you reach July 23rd on the calendar, your operation for this area will start and you’ll gain the ability to have some free time. You can find this quest on Seabreeze Street, on the road going to the west. There will be a Sullen Man here that has a quest marker above his head, so speak to him to start the quest.

The man’s teeth are hurting him so much, he thinks he started seeing tooth monsters (well, we know they are real). To avoid getting his teeth extracted, he asks for a specific item to help cure his toothache. The item in question is the Toothbrush of Hygienia found in Inundo, a village on the outskirts of Brilehaven. There is a deadline of August 9th for this quest, so it’s best to get it out of the way as early as possible.
Toothbrush of Hygienia Location¶
As mentioned in the opening paragraph, it’s best to pair this quest with all of the others (four other quests and the singular new bounty) from Brilehaven, since there is a loop of places to visit to finish all optional content in the town. So, log everything else and when you’re ready to set up, teleport to your gauntlet runner and access the map. Inundo is found just northwest of Brilehaven, so that should be your first destination on the round trip.

Similar to Komero from the Martira region, you won’t get to explore Inundo, as it’s just a basic village. Instead, you will just get a prompt to do some shopping, where the store offers some equipment you can get appraised, as well as Mellow Milk. Move over to the Key Items tab to see the Toothbrush of Hygienia, so purchase it for the low price of 500 Reeves. When you’re ready to go back to town, do so and hand over the item to the NPC to finish the quest.
Dental Distress Rewards¶
For completing this quest, you will receive 15,000 Reeves, which is a nice hefty sum for getting just a toothbrush. You also get an additional reward, too, which the game doesn’t tell you about until you hand in the quest. That extra reward is a Gold Beetle.
