It’s a good idea to do the side quests in Metaphor: ReFantazio, as some of them give out great rewards, like unlocking new Archetypes for your characters. Early on in the game, you meet a Pompous Man in Grand Trad, then you find him again in the village of Martira. It is here that you can get a side quest from him, titled A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake. He will ask you to retrieve a cursed ring from the Abandoned Tomb, as one of his clients wants it.

A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake Location¶
Once you start having free time in Martira, which occurs on June 29th, you will see that some people in the town have side quests for you. Near the inn, there will be a familiar face sitting down, so approach him for a short scene. After it is over, you can speak to the Pompous Man again to find out he has a side quest for you. However, in order to start it, you will need your Imagination Royal Virtue at Rank 2. Do that and you can begin the quest.
The man will ask you to head to the Abandoned Tomb, located to the south of Martira, to find an item called Malveno’s Ring. One of his clients wants it, but he mentions the ring is cursed. He will reward you handsomely, should you go and retrieve the ring for him.
Malveno’s Ring Location¶
The trip to the Abandoned Tomb will take two days, so make sure you set some time for it. You will also want some protection against Sleep before going there, as one of the enemies will attempt to put your party to sleep quite often. This also includes the boss, too, so it makes it even more important. Once you arrive at the dungeon, make your way to the northern part, where you’ll find a large chest. As you encountered a few mimics during the dungeon, this large chest is another one, so you’ll have to fight it.

Upon defeating the Trove Imitec, you will receive a key that allows you to unlock some doors that couldn’t be opened. The locked door you need is located near the entrance, just across from the first NPC you found. Go in there and open the chest for Malveno’s Ring. You can now return to town and on the next day, hand over the ring to the man. Note that this will take up some time, so be prepared for that, too. This will bring an end to the quest.
A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake Rewards¶
You will gain some Courage for finishing this quest, as well as 15,000 Reeves and regain Grius’ Memento. Additionally, doing this quest will establish the Bond with the Pompous Man, whose name is Alonzo. This will also unlock the Faker Archetype for your characters.
