Magic Knight Archetype

The "Magic Knight" iconMagic Knight is one of the Adept Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio. It is slightly improved from the basic "Knight" iconKnight with stronger magic skills to protect and heal your party. It is weak to Electric damage, but strong against Slash damage.

The Magic Knight is a part of the Knight Lineage and investing in it will allow you to unlock its Elite forms: the "Paladin" iconPaladin or the "Dark Knight" iconDark Knight. The Magic Knight Archetype is a fairly easy to use class with a lot of flexibility to act as a healer and a protector, while still doing some damage.

How to unlock the Magic Knight Archetype

The Magic Knight is unlocked once you reach Rank 3 with "Hulkenberg" iconHulkenberg’s bond. This can be done when you speak to her on the Gauntlet Runner upon getting the hulking machinery. You will also need Rank 20 with the Knight Archetype and to spend 9,000 MAG to equip it.

Magic Knight Skills

The Magic Knight has access to 7 different Skills:

  • Auto-Repel - [Hero Passive] Chance to reflect an enemy’s attack in overworld combat.
  • "Knight's Proclamation" iconKnight’s Proclamation - Draws enemy attention and takes attacks for allies for 1 turn (certain attacks defy this effect) (4 MP)
  • "Rakukaja" iconRakukaja - Increases one ally’s Defence for 3 turns. (8 MP)
  • "Mediline" iconMediline - Weak HP recovery for allies in the same row. (10 MP)
  • "Heavy Rush" iconHeavy Rush - Deals medium physical Pierce damage to one enemy. (12 MP)
  • "Dark Dodge" iconDark Dodge - [Passive] Increases Evasion against Dark attacks.
  • "Tetrakarn" iconTetrakarn - Raises a barrier that repels one Slash/Pierce/Strike attack for one ally. (40 MP)

Magic Knight Synthesis Skills

The Magic Knight has access to a large variety of Synthesis Skills:

  • "Marakukaja" iconMarakukaja - Required Skill: Rakukaja. Increases all allies’ Defence for 3 turns. (18 MP) [Allies needed: "Seeker" iconSeeker, Knight, or "Commander" iconCommander Lineages]
  • "Leap Thrust" iconLeap Thrust - Deals heavy physical Pierce damage to one enemy. Lowers their Defence for 3 turns. (10 MP) [Allies needed: "Warrior" iconWarrior, "Brawler" iconBrawler, or "Berserker" iconBerserker Lineages]
  • "Magic Knight's Hammer" iconMagic Knight’s Hammer - Deals extreme physical Electric damage to one enemy. Inflicts a one-time weakeness to Electric. (18 MP) [Allies needed: "Gunner" iconGunner, "Masked Dancer" iconMasked Dancer, or Berserker Lineages]
  • "Hammer of Justice" iconHammer of Justice - Deals heavy physical Pierce damage to one enemy. Inflicts a one-time weakness to Pierce (18 MP) [Allies needed: Brawler, "Merchant" iconMerchant, or "Summoner" iconSummoner Lineages]
  • "Protect Guard" iconProtect Guard - Raises a barrier that nullifies one Slash/Pierce/Strike attack for one ally. (10 MP) [Allies needed: Knight, "Healer" iconHealer, or Commander Lineages]
  • "Magic Guard" iconMagic Guard - Raises a barrier that nullifies one elemental attack for all allies in caster’s row (28 MP) [Allies needed: Seeker, "Mage" iconMage, or Healer Lineages]
