The Dark Knight is one of the Elite Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio. It is based around an offensive style of play, unlike the other Knight forms, dealing intense magic damage. It is strong against both Dark and Slash damage, but weak to Electric damage.

The Dark Knight is a part of the Knight Lineage and it is the final, upgraded form. The Dark Knight Archetype is a high-damage Archetype, although costly due to its high MP consumption.

How to unlock the Dark Knight Archetype¶

To unlock the Dark Knight Archetype, you need to level up Hulkenberg’s bond Rank to 7 which occurs during your free time on Virga Island. You will also need to get the Knight to Rank 20. From there you can purchase it for 18,750 MAG.

Dark Knight Skills¶

The Dark Knight has the following skills:

• Auto-Repel - [Hero Passive] Chance to reflect an enemy’s attack in overworld combat.
• Heavy Rush - Deals medium physical Pierce damage to one enemy. (12 MP)
• Magic Counter - [Passive] Has a 15% chance of repelling Fire/Ice/Electric/Wind /Light/Dark damage.
• Mad Rush - Deals heavy physical Pierce damage to one enemy. (22 MP)
• Flawless [Passive] Automatically increases wielder’s Attack/Defence/Hit/Evasion at the start of battle.
• Pierce Boost - [Passive] Increases Pierce Attack by 20%.
• Instant Recovery - [Passive] Ensures status ailments are automatically cured in 1 turn.
• Thunderstrike Thrust - Deals medium physical Electric damage to one enemy. Lowers their Defence for 3 turns. (28 MP)

Dark Knight Synthesis Skills¶

The Dark Knight also has access to powerful, damage dealing Synthesis Skills:

• Flying Guard Thrust - Deals extreme physical Pierce damage to one enemy. Lowers their Defence for 3 turns. (14 MP) [Allies needed: Warrior, Brawler, or Berserker Lineages]
• Blackguard’s Hammer - Deals severe physical Dark damage to one enemy. Inflicts a one-time weakness to Dark. (20 MP) [Allies needed: Brawler, Merchant, or Summoner Lineages]
• Peerless Shadow - Deals severe physical Dark damage to all enemies. Decreases their Attack/Defence/Hit/Evasion for 3 turns. (25 MP) [First ally needed: Warrior, Thief, or Masked Dancer Lineages & Second ally needed: Knight, Healer, or Commander Lineages]

These Synthesis Skills are your main form of damage output with the Dark Knight, especially if you want to exploit Dark weaknesses throughout the game.
