The United Kingdom of Euchronia is a very big place, and if you’re to win The Tournament for the Throne, you’re going to need all of the help you can get. Fortunately, as a candidate, the protagonist can seek out Followers and form Bonds with them to give you a fighting chance. Keep reading to learn how to unlock every Follower Bond in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
If you want to win the Tournament for the Throne in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you’re going to need the help of all of the potential Followers.
Follower Bonds Explained¶
Before we get started on how to find and unlock every Bond, you may want to know just what they are, and what the benefit is for them. In a manner of speaking, they function very similar to Persona Studio’s previous games, more specifically, Persona 5. Once you’ve established a Bond, you’ll unlock the associated Archetype (Class) alongside it and then there are seven further ranks which will grant you abilities, be it more Inheritance Skill Slots, advanced Archetype, or other gameplay benefits.
Unlike Persona 5, however, these don’t require as much thinking to raise their ranks. You’ll need to use up a precious time slot, and occasionally, you may need to have a specific Royal Virtue at a certain rank, but you there’s nothing like bringing matching Persona ranks to help rank it up and the answers to your questions have no bearing on ranking it up, only the MAG you receive as a bonus.
How to Unlock Every Follower Bond¶
With that said, you’ll want to know how you unlock each of the 14 Followers in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Seven of these Bonds are automatic, you can’t miss their first event, but the other seven are optional and can be missed if you’re not careful. The table below will detail the Follower, when you unlock them, and the associated Archetype that unlocks with them.

Max Bond Rank Items¶
As you reach the closing stages of the adventure, on the night of 10/25 you’ll be able to speak to any Follower that you have a max Bond with for another scene and obtain a Key Item. Unlike the Bonds themselves, these items can be carried over to New Game+ and each item will increase the stats of channeled Archetypes.
