If you want to succeed in the Tournament for the Throne in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you’re going to need to raise your Royal Virtues as these are mainly needed to fully max out your Followers. Courage is the measure of a ruler’s bravery and there are many activities that raise it, keep reading to learn what they are and what each rank of Courage is needed for.

There are many ways to increase Courage in Metaphor: ReFantazio, such as competing in the Coliseum.

How to Raise Courage¶

When it comes to Royal Virtues, Courage is perhaps the easiest one to raise, as you’ll get a lot of points for it by just pursuing bounties, battling in the Coliseum, or completing certain quests. As such, you’ll most likely find that Courage will be the first Royal Virtue that you hit Rank 5 on, which is useful as one of the Bonds will require Courage Rank 5 to finish. We were able to max Courage during the free time on Virga Islands.

If you’ve reached the later stages of the adventure and have yet to max out your Courage, focus on working out with Basillio and watching the Courage specific play at the Altabury Opera House and you should hit it in no time.

Courage Rank Unlocks¶

As mentioned at the top, you’ll need to raise Courage to enhance some of your Bonds, more specifically, that of Alonzo and Brigitta. The table below shows what becomes available at each Rank of Courage.
