The Tycoon is one of the Elite Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio. It is an enhanced form of the Merchant, with money consuming skills that have a chance to provide strong rewards and rare item drops. It isn’t strong against anything, but noticeably weak to Fire and Light damage.

The Tycoon is the final form in the Merchant Lineage. The Tycoon Archetype is a costly choice, consuming considerable amounts of money with each Skill it uses. However, the rewards can outweigh the cost.

How to unlock the Tycoon Archetype¶

The Tycoon is unlocked at the end of Brigitta’s bond questline - once you reach Rank 8. This final level up occurs at the end of the 09 month. You will also need to have leveled up the Merchant to Rank 20 and the Commander to Rank 10.

Finally, you need to spend 24,000 MAG to equip it.

Tycoon Skills¶

The Tycoon has access to a number of passive and one active skill:

• Alchemy - [Hero Passive] Chance of winning a small sum of money each time an enemy is stunned or defeated in overworld combat.
• Gold Rush - Deals heavy physical Almighty damage with a high Critical Rate to one enemy. (2,500)
• Lucky Find [Passive] Increases likelihood of receiving items after battles by 20%.
• Item Connoisseur - [Passive] Multiplies effects of consumables by 2.
• Luckier Find - [Passive] Increases likelihood of receiving rare items after battles by 20%.
• Critical Trade - [Passive] Doubles chance of dealing a critical hit to an enemy.
• Almighty Boost - [Passive] Increases Almighty Attack by 20%.

As you can see, the passives play into the one damage dealing skill the Tycoon has, so it is worth it to bet sometimes with that skill when you have leveled up the Tycoon.

Tycoon Synthesis Skills¶

The Tycoon has 4 Synthesis Skills:

• All Reset - Removes nearly all beneficial effects from all enemies. (36 MP) [Allies needed: Thief, Faker, or Merchant Lineages]
• Money Power - Increases all of one ally’s stats by three ranks for 3 turns. Consumes money instead of MP. (9,999) [Allies needed: Gunner, Masked Dancer, or Berserker Lineages]
• Fortune Slots - Low Hit Rate, but all hits deal critical physical Almighty damage. (777) [Allies needed: Brawler, Merchant, or Summoner Lineages]
• Golden Soldier - Deals extreme physical Almighty damage to all enemies. (3,333) [Allies needed: Warrior, Brawler, or Berserker Lineages]
