Some of the side quests in Metaphor: ReFantazio are very important, as the rewards are crucial in helping you progress through the game. Providing a Spark is one of those, as it will reward you with a new Bond, which in turn gives you a new Archetype for your characters. This one will involve Neuras, an eccentric character that takes care of your gauntlet running. He’s on the lookout for some relics and wants you to go to the town of Komero, as that is the home of his old mentor.

You will automatically get this quest as part of the main story.

Providing a Spark Location¶

Fortunately, you won’t have to go hunting for this side quest, as it will automatically be given to you as you progress the main story. After completing the Grand Cathedral dungeon, your character will enter the tournament to become ruler. This will net you a gauntlet runner, allowing you to start travelling to different towns. The driver of that runner is Neuras and while making the trek to Martira, you will obtain a new side quest from him. This will happen on 6/26 and it’s automatic.

Neuras’ Relic Location¶

The only problem with this quest is that you won’t know where Komero is located, as it won’t get put on the map. You’ll have to wait until you get to 6/29 on the calendar, when you gain access to some more side quests in Martira. Specifically, you’re looking for the Hatching a Plan quest in Thoroughfare Square in Martira. The NPC for that quest asks you to go to Komero to buy something for him, and he will pinpoint its location on the map.

You will still need to travel via the gauntlet runner to reach Komero, but it’s a good idea to simply wait until 7/5, as there is something else you can do that way. That is when a new bounty appears at the recruiter, with it asking you to chase down an Alpha Rockworm Valmo in the Man-Eater’s Grotto. This dungeon is located just beyond Komero, so you will be able to pack everything together to avoid wasting your precious days. Once you visit Komero, though, a scene will take place and you’ll automatically receive the relic.

This will be given to Neuras back on the runner, without your input, so you will pretty much get forced into finishing the quest upon visiting Komero.

Providing a Spark Rewards¶

For completing this side quest, you will receive x5 Hero’s Incenses, a worthy item to help boost the ranks of your Archetypes. Additionally, you will unlock Neuras as a Bond, as well as the Gunner Archetype. You will also gain a new side quest from Neuras, titled Relic Search: Dregs of Destiny.
