Metaphor: ReFantazio

For Science! Trophy and Achievement Guide

By
Jarrod Garripoli

Many of the trophies and achievements in Metaphor: ReFantazio require you to do specific tasks, some of which you are bound to do naturally. For Science! is one of those, which asks you to perform something called a Special Experiment. This is something you won’t be able to do until you recruit Junah into your party, as that is your first opportunity.

You simply need to craft a single item from the Special Experiment option for this trophy/achievement.

Unlocking Special Experiments

The Special Experiment option will appear at More’s place, once you have officially had Junah join your party. Her base Archetype is the Masked Dancer, which is special from all the other ones in the game. This class allows you to equip special Masks in the accessory slot, which will grant that character some skills from the Archetype the Mask is for in the game. However, to make these Masks, you will require specific items that can either be dropped from enemies, or bought from a specific merchant.

Not long before you get her to join, you will probably start seeing Masks drop as items from some monsters. These Masks are ingredients used to make the equippable ones, so it’s in your best interest to get as many as possible. Additionally, you will be able to purchase some Masks from a specific merchant in Brilehaven. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to do this until you reach Virga Island, as the piece of info to fully unlock the Eugief merchant (the Medicinal Herb one on Seabreeze Street) is purchased at the Informant on Virga Island.

(1 of 2) You can get ingredients from enemy drops.

You can get ingredients from enemy drops. (left), Mask ingredients can also be bought from this Eugief in Brilehaven, once you’ve purchased the info. (right)

These Masks are costly, at 25,000 Reeves a piece, and he only sells specific ones on each day of the week (except for Idlesday, where he sells cooking ingredients). If you wish to learn more about which Masks are available on any given day, check out the All Masks and Ingredients page. Adjacent to this is the Vessels used for the Summoner Archetype, and you’ll get that character to join you after finishing the story events at Virga Islands. Similar to the Masked Dancer, you can craft new Vessels to gain access to more summons. The ingredients used for the Vessels are different than the Masks, though. Check out the All Vessels and Ingredients page for more details.

To get this trophy/achievement, you simply need to go to More, choose the Special Experiment option and craft a single item. It’s easier to do it when you get Junah, since you get her earlier than Eupha.
