The Beast Against Beast Side Quest side quest in Final Fantasy 16 can be acquired in the Greensheaves Sub-Region once you reach the Holding On main quest. Here you’ll find a person named Fredric and he’ll request that you defeat some local wolves. We’ll take you through the necessary steps to completion and where to find the wolves.
Speak with Fredric to begin this quest.

How to Start The Beast Against Beast Side Quest¶
Before you can begin the 
Beasts Against Beasts Side Quest you’ll need to progress through the game until you reach the Hideaway which should take you around 3 hours if you’re starting from the beginning. For those continuing on from the demo, then it should take you an extra hour. From this point, you’ll need to play for a few more hours until you reach the Main Quest Holding On. Here you’ll want to visit the Greensheaves Sub-Region and speak with Fredric, Hunter to begin this quest!
How to Slay The Beasts¶
You’ll be tasked with defeating some wolves that are currently blocking the path to Eastpool, so head east until you reach Rhia Ride. However, before you do so, be sure to check out the surrounding areas for any chests, as they’ll contain useful materials and accessories. Additionally, consider killing any enemies you come across as it’ll build up your AP. When you head to the quest objectives you’ll come across multiple starving wolves.

Here you’ll want to group them up and make use of AoE (Area of Effect) Abilities, such as 
Garuda’s 
Aerial Blast, then weave in single target attacks like 
Heatwave to deplete their health quickly. Once you’ve cleared out the enemies, continue heading up the path towards The Broken Hilt and you’ll come across a Vexed Villager. Speak with him and inform him the path is clear and the quest will come to a close and you’ll be rewarded with x10 
Wyrrite and a 
Meteorite crafting materials.
